O AMD Pavilion Plus 14 de 2023 é a atualização deste ano para o modelo Intel de 2022 modelo Intel de 2022 com novos componentes internos e várias mudanças externas. O modelo não deve ser confundido com o Pavilion 14 padrão que incorpora processadores comparativamente mais lentos e opções de baixo custo.

Case - Finalmente, Keycaps cinza

Há várias atualizações visuais no design deste ano. A primeira e mais óbvia é a cor das teclas do teclado, que agora são cinza em vez de prata. Essa alteração trata diretamente do contraste ruim da luz de fundo branca do teclado em relação às teclas prateadas dos modelos mais antigos do Pavilion para tornar cada tecla muito mais visível. Em segundo lugar, o recuo ao longo da borda frontal do laptop foi removido, para melhor ou pior. Conectividade - Sem suporte para USB4

O sistema apresenta todas as portas do modelo do ano passado, exceto o slot MicroSD. A remoção do leitor de cartão pode ser um corte para reduzir os custos de fabricação ou simplesmente para incentivar os proprietários a experimentar o HP QuickDrop.

Esperávamos ver suporte a USB4 devido à CPU Zen 4, mas infelizmente não é o caso. O senhor terá que gastar um pouco mais em um modelo HP Envy ou Spectre para obter esse recurso.

Manutenção

O painel inferior é fixado por apenas quatro parafusos Phillips para facilitar a manutenção. Na verdade, a HP é um dos únicos grandes fabricantes a publicar vídeos completos de desmontagem de muitos de seus notebooks, incluindo o nosso Pavilion Plus 14. Esperamos ver isso em mais fabricantes, especialmente quando se trata de modelos maiores e mais complicados.

Há várias diferenças de design entre os modelos 2022 e 2023, conforme mostrado nas imagens de comparação abaixo. Em especial, a WLAN, o SSD e os módulos de RAM soldados foram todos reposicionados e a bateria agora também é maior. No entanto, não há muito o que atualizar além do único slot SSD M.2 PCIe4 x4 e do módulo WLAN, como no design anterior.

Não há extras na caixa além do adaptador CA e da documentação. A garantia limitada de um ano do fabricante se aplica se o produto for comprado nos EUA.

Teclado

Embora o feedback das teclas permaneça inalterado para uma experiência de digitação familiar, a HP atendeu aos nossos apelos sobre as teclas prateadas excessivamente brilhantes dos modelos da geração anterior, que dificultavam a visualização da impressão em cada tecla. Para 2023, a opção de cor Natural Silver agora vem com teclas cinza para facilitar a leitura, enquanto as opções Tranquil Pink e Moonlight Blue continuarão a ter teclas rosa e azul, respectivamente.

Touchpad

O tamanho do clickpad continua o mesmo de antes, 12,5 x 8 cm, para uma sensação semelhante. O barulho ao clicar é satisfatoriamente alto, mas o deslocamento é muito superficial e com feedback relativamente fraco. Para um clickpad tão grande, não nos importaríamos de abrir mão de parte desse espaço para botões de mouse dedicados, como em alguns modelos de Modelos ZBook para facilitar as entradas multitoque.

O modelo 2023 atualizou a taxa de atualização de 90 Hz fixos no modelo anterior para 120 Hz fixos ou 120 Hz dinâmicos. A configuração dinâmica pode ser tão baixa quanto 60 Hz quando nenhum movimento é detectado para economizar o consumo de energia, assim como as telas OLED na maioria dos smartphones mais recentes. Caso contrário, outros aspectos como resolução, cores e brilho permanecem inalterados. A qualidade da imagem é excelente, como é de se esperar do OLED.

Recomendamos que o senhor evite a opção de 1200p mais barata devido à sua faixa de cores NTSC muito estreita de 45%. Esses painéis são de baixa qualidade, com cores desbotadas e taxa de contraste inferior.

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

The frequency of 504.7 Hz is quite high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 8705 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 343500) Hz was measured.

Definimos o Windows para o modo Desempenho antes de executar os benchmarks abaixo. Observe que a configuração térmica do software MyHP permanecerá no modo "Equilibrado" mesmo que o Windows esteja configurado no modo Desempenho, o que, segundo a HP, é intencional para a série Pavilion.

Os resultados do PCMark são, em geral, mais altos do que os registrados no modelo do ano passado, especialmente nos subtestes Produtividade e Criação de conteúdo digital, que favorecem o desempenho mais rápido do SSD e da GPU da nossa configuração AMD, respectivamente. Dispositivos de armazenamento

Nossa unidade é fornecida com um disco de 1 TB Western Digital SN810 PCIe4 NVMe de 1 TB, que é uma unidade de médio porte capaz de atingir taxas de leitura e gravação sequenciais de até 6600 MB/s e 5000 MB/s, respectivamente. Infelizmente, a unidade do Pavilion Plus 14 chegava a 310 MB/s depois de apenas alguns minutos de estresse, como mostram os resultados do loop de leitura do DiskSpd abaixo. Esses resultados não mudaram mesmo após a repetição dos testes, o que sugere uma dissipação de calor ruim da SSD. Portanto, as taxas de transferência máximas da SSD só podem ser atingidas por apenas um ou dois minutos, no máximo, antes que o estrangulamento comece.

OLenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon G11que vem com a mesma SSD WD SN810, teria problemas de desempenho semelhantes aos da unidade do nosso HP.

Desempenho da GPU - Radeon 780M com lentidão devido à RAM de 3200 MHz

A Radeon 780M é basicamente uma Radeon 680M reformulada, mas ainda é um salto significativo em relação à atual placa integrada mais rápida da Intel, a Iris Xe 96 EUs da Intel. Nesse caso, as pontuações do 3DMark são de 40 a 60% mais altas do que as da Iris Xe 96 EUs no 2022 Pavilion Plus 14.

No entanto, o desempenho gráfico é de 10 a 15% mais lento do que o laptop médio em nosso banco de dados com a mesma GPU Radeon 780M. Isso pode ser atribuído à RAM relativamente lenta de 3200 MHz do Pavilion Plus 14, já que a maioria dos outros notebooks vem com memória de 4800 MHz ou mais rápida.

O desempenho não é reduzido de forma significativa se for executado no modo Battery Power ou Balanced Mode, como mostra a tabela de resultados do 3DMark 11 abaixo.

As temperaturas da superfície são mais quentes na metade direita do laptop do que na esquerda, como no modelo Core H-series do ano passado. Teste de estresse

Ao iniciar o estresse do Prime95, a CPU aumentou para 3,4 GHz e 30 W apenas nos primeiros 10 segundos, antes de cair e se estabilizar em 2,8 GHz, 25 W e 80 C. Repetir esse mesmo teste no modelo do ano passado com o Core i7-12700H resultaria em uma temperatura central visivelmente mais quente de 89 C em comparação. Seria preferível um valor fixo de 30 W para obter o máximo de desempenho sustentado, mas esse geralmente não é o caso da maioria dos notebooks com CPUs da série U.

A execução de Witcher 3 para representar as cargas típicas de jogos também apresentaria temperaturas de núcleo mais baixas. Nossa CPU AMD se estabilizaria em 77 °C em comparação com 84 °C no modelo Intel 2022, apesar das vantagens de desempenho da AMD mencionadas anteriormente.

Nossa unidade AMD é capaz de concluir o benchmark CineBench R15 Multi-Thread aproximadamente no mesmo tempo que a unidade Intel do ano passado, consumindo apenas metade da energia. Da mesma forma, a execução Witcher 3 no modelo AMD ou Intel consumiria cerca de 42 W cada, embora as taxas de quadros no modelo AMD fossem de 60% a 100% mais altas. As vantagens de desempenho por watt que o Zen 4 oferece em relação ao Intel Core H de 12ª geração não podem ser subestimadas.

Duração da bateria

A HP aumentou a capacidade da bateria de 51 Wh no Pavilion Plus 14 do ano passado para 68 Wh nessa versão mais recente da AMD. Quando combinada com a CPU Ryzen série U, muito mais eficiente, a duração da bateria aumentou quase duas vezes, de 4,5 horas para 8,5 horas de navegação em WLAN no mundo real.

Os notebooks caros são fáceis de recomendar; os baratos é que são mais complicados por causa dos cortes e das medidas de economia de custos por baixo do pano. O Pavilion Plus 14 é um dos melhores notebooks de 14 polegadas que já vimos no varejo por menos de US$ 1.000. A CPU Zen 4 Ryzen 7 completa e a tela OLED de 120 Hz ajudam a tornar o modelo completo para multimídia, jogos, edição, viagens, processamento de texto e trabalho gráfico para satisfazer a grande maioria dos usuários domésticos casuais ou estudantes com orçamentos apertados.

A CPU Ryzen 7, em particular, é responsável por muitas das vantagens do sistema HP. Seu desempenho por watt é muito maior do que o Core i7-12700H do modelo do ano passado, o que faz com que nosso sistema AMD funcione mais frio e por mais tempo, além de proporcionar um desempenho mais rápido em jogos.
