Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Condições de teste

Dos seis modos de desempenho específicos do fabricante (consulte a tabela abaixo), foram usados os modos "Balanced" (para benchmarks) e "Eco" (para testes de bateria). os modos "Turbo" e "Performance" só estão disponíveis na operação da rede elétrica (nível de bateria > 30%). Um botão acima do teclado permite alternar entre os modos. Como alternativa, isso pode ser feito por meio do software NitroSense (centro de controle do laptop). Um LED indica o modo ativo.

Observação: embora o outro modelo Nitro 16 tenha sido testado com o modo Optimus ativo, o modo dGPU (= a iGPU está desativada) é usado no dispositivo de teste atual. Os testes de bateria são uma exceção, no entanto. Portanto, os resultados de benchmark nem sempre são diretamente comparáveis.

O Ryzen 5 7535HSaPU (Zen 3+, Rembrandt-R) oferece seis núcleos de CPU com um total de 12 threads em um aumento máximo de núcleo único de 4,55 GHz. A CPU reconhece a carga permanente de vários threads (CB15 Loop) com um Turbo clock constantemente alto, independentemente do modo de sistema selecionado. As diferenças entre os modos são pequenas.

A tecnologia DLSS da Nvidia pode proporcionar um aumento nas taxas de quadros. Apesar da dGPU permanentemente ativa, o notebook é silencioso no uso diário (escritório, Internet, etc.). Como esperado, isso é diferente no modo de jogo.

Níveis de pressão sonora de até 61 dB(A) ("Turbo") ou 56 dB(A) ("Performance") exigem o uso de fones de ouvido. O modo "Balanced" que usamos chega a 45 dB(A). É possível obter um desenvolvimento geral de ruído mais baixo usando o modo "Quiet", mas às custas do desempenho de computação, é claro.

Duração da bateria

O Nitro 16 atinge tempos de execução de 11:00 h e 10:50 h no teste de WLAN (acessando sites por meio de um script) e no teste de vídeo (filme curto Big Buck Bunny FHD H.264 codificado em um loop), respectivamente. Durante ambos os testes, os recursos de economia de energia do notebook são desativados e o brilho da tela é definido para cerca de 150 cd/m². Os módulos sem fio também são desativados para o teste de vídeo.

Observação: O Nitro mostra um aumento no consumo de energia no modo de bateria no Windows 11 (instalação da Acer, instalação própria). Consequentemente, os tempos de execução ficam atrás das taxas do modelo irmão Análise do Acer Nitro 16 AN16-41: Um laptop para jogos RTX 4070 com boa duração da bateria (WLAN: 5,5 vs. 9 h) com as mesmas capacidades de bateria. Portanto, os tempos de execução foram determinados no Windows 10. O problema não ocorre aqui.

Não podemos apontar um motivo para o aumento do consumo de energia. Pode ser um problema do nosso dispositivo de teste.

O Acer Nitro 16 foi projetado para jogos em FHD com configurações altas ou máximas, mas também é bom em outras áreas (edição de vídeo, renderização). O processadorRyzen 5 7535HS e GeForce RTX 4050oferece o desempenho necessário, e a CPU e a GPU podem trabalhar com taxas de clock constantemente altas.

A Acer apresenta um laptop para jogos completo no segmento de nível básico com o Nitro 16.

Surpreendentemente, o laptop esquenta mais sob carga do que seu modelo irmão equipado com hardware mais potente. Os modelos Nitro não têm muito em comum em termos de desenvolvimento de ruído. O modo "Equilibrado" proporciona um ruído de fundo moderado.

A tela de 16 polegadas (WUXGA) não é muito inferior ao painel (WQXGA) do modelo irmão. O último oferece um brilho máximo maior (400 nits vs. 500 nits). Os já bons tempos de execução do Ryzen 7 Nitro são superados pelo modelo atual, mesmo que apenas no Windows 10. A capacidade de armazenamento (512 GB) é escassa para um notebook para jogos.

Uma alternativa pode ser encontrada no Asus TUF A15 FA507. Ele oferece mais desempenho da CPU com tempos de execução da bateria ligeiramente melhores. O Gigabyte G7 KE seria a alternativa econômica em que um nível de desempenho mais baixo seria compensado por um preço de compra mais baixo (€1.050). No entanto, o sistema operacional Windows não está incluído no escopo da entrega.
