Diferenças em relação ao modelo Intel

O exterior do Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 é muito parecido com o do Galaxy Book4 Pro 14mas com um tom sutilmente mais prateado/azul claro (Sapphire Blue). Medindo pouco menos de 11 milímetros de espessura, esse laptop é notavelmente fino - mais fino até do que o MacBook Air 13. Seu peso ligeiramente menor em comparação com o Pro 14 é atribuído ao chassi mais fino e a uma bateria um pouco menor.

Embora a qualidade de construção seja excelente, a tampa da tela se flexiona um pouco, o que pode ser particularmente perturbador durante as interações por toque. Uma distinção importante no design é a escolha da Samsung de armazenamento UFS para o SSD, semelhante ao maior Galaxy Book4 Edge 16. O Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 apresenta três perfis de energia: Silencioso, Otimizado e Alto desempenho. Por padrão, realizamos nossos benchmarks e medições no modo otimizado predefinido. O modo High Performance proporciona um melhor desempenho de vários núcleos (+33% no Cinebench 2024 Multi), mas também resulta em um ruído de ventoinha visivelmente mais alto. No entanto, o desempenho de um único núcleo e da GPU não apresenta benefícios significativos com essa configuração mais alta.

Processador - X1E-80-100

O Snapdragon X Elite (X1E-80-100) apresenta 12 núcleos, com velocidade máxima de clock de 3,4 GHz e turbo dual-core de até 4,0 GHz. As medições de consumo de energia indicam que a configuração do TDP é semelhante à do Galaxy Book4 Pro 14 com seu processador Intel, provavelmente atingindo um pico de cerca de 50 watts por alguns segundos antes de se estabilizar em cerca de 20 watts. Nos benchmarks nativos, o desempenho continua forte e totalmente adequado para as tarefas cotidianas. Dispositivos de armazenamento

Como mencionado anteriormente, a Samsung substituiu os dois slots M.2-2280 encontrados no Galaxy Book4 Pro 14 por sua própria memória UFS soldada, que não pode ser atualizada. Emissões e energia

O Edge 14 opera de forma excepcionalmente silenciosa, principalmente no modo otimizado. Mesmo com carga total, registramos apenas 27,2 dB(A), resultando em pouco mais do que um leve chiado. No modo Silencioso, o nível máximo de ruído chegou a 25,8 dB(A), enquanto no modo de Alto Desempenho atingiu o pico de 36,6 dB(A). Nenhum outro ruído eletrônico foi detectado no dispositivo de teste.

No entanto, a baixa atividade do ventilador tem um custo, pois observamos temperaturas de superfície superiores a 122 °F em algumas áreas sob carga. Essa tendência persiste mesmo no modo High-Performance, em que o aumento da atividade da ventoinha é compensado pelo aumento do desempenho, levando a níveis de temperatura praticamente idênticos.

Basicamente, o novo Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 é um companheiro elegante para as tarefas diárias. O Snapdragon X Elite oferece desempenho suficiente e, desde que o senhor consiga navegar pela seleção limitada de aplicativos nativos, deverá ter uma experiência tranquila. Uma das principais vantagens em relação ao Intel Galaxy Book4 Pro 14 são as ventoinhas mais silenciosas, que produzem apenas um leve chiado. A tela OLED também é impressionante.

Entretanto, há desvantagens notáveis. Surgem problemas de compatibilidade, pois os aplicativos x86 precisam ser emulados e alguns podem não ser executados. Os dispositivos periféricos também podem enfrentar desafios se exigirem drivers específicos. É essencial verificar com antecedência se seus aplicativos e dispositivos preferidos funcionarão. Embora os dispositivos Snapdragon sejam elogiados por suas vantagens de duração da bateria, o Edge 14 fica aquém nesse aspecto. A duração da bateria no teste de Wi-Fi é um pouco melhor do que a do Pro 14, mas é inferior na reprodução de vídeo, o que coloca os dois modelos em situação semelhante no geral.

O Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 é um laptop silencioso, porém caro, para uso diário, com uma boa tela OLED. No entanto, ele não apresenta vantagens significativas na duração da bateria em comparação com os concorrentes da AMD e da Intel.

A Samsung também reduz os custos com o SSD usando chips de memória UFS em vez de um SSD M.2 2280 comum ou slots duplos, como visto no Galaxy Book4 Pro 14. Embora as velocidades sejam aceitáveis, os usuários não têm opção de expandir a capacidade de armazenamento. Considerando o alto preço do Galaxy Book4 Edge 14 e as ventoinhas silenciosas, encontramos poucos motivos para escolher a versão ARM em vez das alternativas.
