Estojo e conectividade

Em geral, a única diferença que o gabinete do Galaxy Book4 Edge 16 apresenta em relação ao Galaxy Book4 Pro 16 está na cor, pois esse modelo apresenta um prata mais claro com um leve tom azulado. Portanto, a versão com Snapdragon é um laptop de 16 polegadas superfino com um gabinete de metal estável e de alta qualidade. O dispositivo tem uma aparência elegante e suas superfícies não atraem muitas marcas de impressões digitais. Só não somos grandes fãs da ampla moldura inferior da tela.

Não há diferenças entre o Edge e o Pro em termos de conexões em si, mas o senhor não terá suporte para Thunderbolt. Entretanto, como as duas portas USB-C suportam USB 4.0, isso não deve ser um problema real na prática.

O Edge 16 tem uma vantagem quando se trata de seu módulo Wi-Fi, pois ele já é compatível com Wi-Fi 7 e Bluetooth 5.4. Ainda não temos um roteador Wi-Fi 7, mas com nosso roteador de referência Wi-Fi 6E da Asus, suas taxas de transferência nas redes de 5 GHz e 6 GHz foram muito boas e estáveis. A versão 5G do Galaxy Book4 Edge 16 não está disponível.

Manutenção

A tampa inferior é fixada com quatro parafusos localizados sob os pés de borracha inseridos (não colados). Na parte interna, entretanto, há algumas diferenças importantes em relação ao Galaxy Book4 Pro. As duas ventoinhas são idênticas e a bateria também é acessível, mas a Samsung eliminou os dois slots M.2 2280, em vez de instalar o armazenamento UFS 4.0 soldado, que é bem conhecido dos smartphones. Seus dispositivos de entrada são idênticos aos do Galaxy Book4 Pro 16 e, embora as teclas sejam precisas, o teclado não é o melhor para digitar, pois as teclas têm uma elevação muito curta. As pessoas que escrevem muito devem experimentar o teclado antes de comprar o laptop. A luz de fundo branca de três níveis está disponível para garantir boa visibilidade em ambientes escuros, que pode ser ativada automaticamente por meio de um sensor. O grande clickpad é agradável e suave e funciona de forma confiável - os ruídos de clique são apenas um pouco altos. Também é possível usar a tela sensível ao toque capacitiva para entradas. O botão liga/desliga está integrado na parte superior direita do teclado e também funciona como um scanner de impressões digitais.

Tela - OLED de 120 Hz com tela sensível ao toque

A Samsung usa a tela OLED com o ID ATNA60CL07-0 no Galaxy Book4 Edge 16. O mesmo painel também pode ser encontrado no Galaxy Book4 Pro 16, e é por isso que recomendamos que o senhor dê uma olhada na nossa análise do Pro 16 para uma análise mais detalhada. Subjetivamente, a mais nova geração de OLED da Samsung é excelente e, apesar de ter uma tela sensível ao toque, não notamos nenhum efeito de rasterização como no OLED mais antigo da Samsung no atual Dell XPS 16. Seu brilho é de cerca de 400 cd/m² em operação SDR e até 550 cd/m² no modo HDR. Além disso, a Samsung forneceu perfis precisos para sRGB e o espaço de cores P3.

Desempenho - Snapdragon X Elite e armazenamento UFS

Além da nossa configuração de teste, a Samsung também oferece uma variante com o Snapdragon X Elite (X1E-84-100) mais rápido e uma capacidade de armazenamento de 1 TB por um MRSP de US$ 1.749,99. No entanto, a RAM também é limitada a 16 GB nesse modelo.

A Samsung oferece o Galaxy Book4 Edge 16 com o X1E-80-100 ou o X1E-84-100 mais rápido (maior clock turbo e multi-core dual-core, iGPU mais rápido). Nosso dispositivo de teste está equipado com o X1E-80-100, que apresenta um total de 12 núcleos a 3,4 GHz, bem como um turbo dual-core de 4,0 GHz. Latências de DPC

Não foi possível realizar nosso teste de latência padronizado porque o aplicativo LatencyMon não pode ser iniciado no sistema ARM. Ao reproduzir um vídeo 4K do YouTube, pelo menos não notamos nenhum problema de queda de quadros.

Dispositivo de armazenamento

No que diz respeito ao meio de armazenamento do laptop, a Samsung não usou um SSD PCIe comum, mas optou pelo armazenamento UFS 4.0 soldado, que é conhecido em smartphones e tablets. Seu desempenho não é um problema e suas taxas de transferência permanecem completamente estáveis, mesmo sob carga prolongada. No entanto, ele não pode ser expandido, o que significa que a Samsung sacrificou uma das principais vantagens do Galaxy Book4 Pro 16que tem dois slots para SSDs M.2 2280 comuns. O processador integrado Adreno X1-85 cuida dos cálculos gráficos, sendo que, em combinação com o X1E-80-100, ele é o mais lento dos dois modelos e tem uma taxa de clock de 1,2 GHz e 3,6 TFLOPS. Durante o uso diário, a iGPU faz um trabalho muito bom e até mesmo a reprodução de vídeos de alta resolução não é problema para o dispositivo. Os problemas começam a surgir ao executar aplicativos mais complexos (o aplicativo nativo DaVinci Resolve não funciona tão bem quanto o esperado) ou ao jogar, por exemplo. Durante nosso teste, a Qualcomm lançou um novo driver de GPU beta (31.0.60.0) que supostamente melhora sua compatibilidade - isso podemos confirmar. Por exemplo, não notamos mais nenhum travamento ao jogar Cyberpunk 2077 e agora também é possível executar Far Cry 5 no laptop Snapdragon (embora com grandes quedas de quadros). Mesmo assim, seus problemas fundamentais de compatibilidade permanecem e, em comparação com o Galaxy Book4 Pro 16há simplesmente limitações.

O desempenho gráfico do laptop em si foi minimamente aprimorado por esse novo driver. O desempenho da GPU permanece estável sob carga prolongada e no modo de bateria. Outros benchmarks de GPU estão disponíveis aqui.

O modelo ARM certamente tem algumas vantagens sobre a variante Intel no que diz respeito às ventoinhas, pois no modo inativo e durante aplicativos simples, elas praticamente nunca estão ativas. Mesmo sob carga mais alta, demora um pouco até que as ventoinhas se tornem audíveis. Ao jogar e durante o teste de estresse com carga máxima da CPU/GPU, medimos um máximo de 32,4 dB(A) com o perfil otimizado. Entretanto, o ruído da ventoinha era bastante agudo e, como resultado, subjetivamente mais irritante do que o valor sugerido. Usando o modo de alto desempenho, eles ficam muito mais altos - observamos um pico de 43,2 dB(A). Não notamos nenhum outro ruído eletrônico proveniente do nosso dispositivo de teste durante o período de teste.

Temperatura

Podemos ver os efeitos das baixas emissões de ruído da ventoinha no aquecimento do laptop - embora tudo permaneça na faixa verde ao executar tarefas simples, o gabinete de metal simplesmente esquenta demais sob carga. Às vezes, medimos mais de 50 °C e quase 10 °C a mais do que no modelo Intel. Nesses casos, o dispositivo não deve ser colocado sobre as coxas e o contato direto com a pele deve ser evitado. A área do teclado também fica visivelmente quente, mas isso não deve limitar seu uso.

Tempos de execução

A maior surpresa está nos tempos de execução do Galaxy Book4 Edge 16, mas infelizmente em um sentido negativo. Verificamos os resultados várias vezes, mas em todos os cenários (além da reprodução de vídeo HDR - 5 horas para o Pro, 7 horas para o Edge), o Snapdragon Galaxy teve um desempenho significativamente pior do que o Galaxy Book4 Pro 16. Pior ainda, o novo Edge 16 ficou atrás de quase todos os seus concorrentes durante o teste de Wi-Fi e o teste de vídeo. No teste de Wi-Fi a 150 cd/m², medimos pouco menos de 7,5 horas e apenas cerca de 5,5 horas com brilho total. A Samsung precisa urgentemente fazer algo a respeito. Seu tempo de execução de vídeo a 150 cd/m² foi melhor, com cerca de 14,5 horas, mas, mesmo assim, são quase 5 horas a menos do que o Modelo da Intel.

Observação: O Edge 16 não oferece uma opção para reduzir sua frequência de 120 para 60 Hz. Entretanto, o modo de sinal ativo no Galaxy Book4 Pro 16 foi sempre 120 Hz, portanto os resultados são comparáveis.

O Galaxy Book4 Edge 16 é um laptop grande para o dia a dia, com uma impressionante tela touchscreen OLED de 16 polegadas e um gabinete metálico fino. O novo processador Snapdragon traz muitas vantagens, como o Wi-Fi 7 e as funções Copilot+. As emissões de ruído mais baixas da ventoinha também são uma vantagem no uso diário, mas isso ocorre ao custo de temperaturas superficiais sob carga. Fora isso, há praticamente apenas desvantagens em comparação com o Galaxy Book4 Pro 16 com o processador Intel.

Em primeiro lugar, temos que mencionar os problemas de compatibilidade, pois os novos laptops Snapdragon enfrentam limitações em comparação com os laptops Windows "normais" com processadores AMD ou Intel. Isso não só se torna evidente ao jogar ou executar aplicativos, mas também pode se tornar um problema ao conectar periféricos como impressoras, scanners ou placas de som externas. A Samsung pelo menos faz referência a esse problema na página do produto. Outra grande desvantagem é a ausência dos dois slots para SSD M.2 2280. Em vez disso, a Samsung optou pelo armazenamento UFS soldado, que é conhecido dos smartphones. Embora seu desempenho seja bom, a Samsung economizou algum dinheiro ao fazer isso e os usuários são deixados de lado assim que desejam aumentar a capacidade de armazenamento do dispositivo.

O Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 16 com o Snapdragon X Elite decepcionou durante nosso teste e não apresenta nenhuma vantagem decisiva em relação ao Galaxy Book4 Pro 16 com uma CPU Intel. Como resultado da perda dos dois slots de SSD, tempos de execução consideravelmente mais curtos, compatibilidade limitada de software e hardware, bem como seu preço mais alto, não temos certeza de por que os compradores em potencial deveriam optar pela variante Snapdragon.

A maior vantagem oferecida pelos novos laptops Snapdragon é supostamente a melhor duração da bateria.
