O TW220 é o mais recente tablet com Windows 11 da empresa sino-americana Robo and Kala. É um dos poucos tablets Windows a ser fornecido com um SoC ARM, muito menos um Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 com gráficos Adreno 690 integrados. Dessa forma, ele concorre diretamente com a série Microsoft Surface, incluindo o recente Surface Pro 9 ARM que usa exatamente o mesmo processador da Qualcomm.

Acessórios e garantia

A caixa de varejo inclui a base do teclado removível com luz de fundo e a caneta inteligente com pressão de 4096 níveis. A base do teclado tem sua própria bateria interna e pode se conectar ao tablet sem fio via Bluetooth ou fisicamente por meio de pinos de conexão. Os teclados removíveis para tablets são quase sempre piores do que os teclados dos laptops tradicionais. O teclado do TW220, no entanto, não é ruim. O feedback das teclas é uniforme e nítido e o curso de 1,3 mm é padrão. Infelizmente, as teclas parecem um pouco rígidas e, portanto, é necessário mais esforço dos dedos para pressionar e registrar uma entrada.

Touchpad

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Condições de teste

Definimos o Windows para o modo Desempenho antes de executar os benchmarks abaixo. Vale a pena observar que muitos aplicativos não são iniciados no Windows ARM, incluindo muitos dos nossos aplicativos de benchmark habituais. LatencyMon, PCMark 10, 3DMark, i1Profiler, BaseMark, Geekbench 5.4, GPUScore Sacred Path, 3DMark 06, leituras de sensores HWiNFO e determinados arquivos de lote do Windows são apenas alguns dos aplicativos problemáticos que encontramos durante os testes.

Processador

O desempenho multi-thread bruto é consistentemente superior ao doCore i5-1035G1 enquanto o oposto é verdadeiro para cargas de trabalho de thread único. Tarefas exigentes, como codificação 4K ou Blender, são mais lentas do que o Core i5, o que significa que os usuários avançados ainda devem considerar um Microsoft Surface Pro com Core i7. Quando estressado no Prime95, as taxas de clock da CPU chegavam a 2,7 GHz nos primeiros segundos, antes de cair e se estabilizar em 2,1 GHz após alguns minutos.

Subjetivamente, o Windows 11 é executado de forma suave e responsiva no SoC Snapdragon e não tivemos nenhuma BSOD durante os testes. Dito isso, lembre-se de que a maioria dos aplicativos é executada por meio de emulação e, portanto, as chances de incompatibilidade são altas.

A navegação no sistema operacional não é tão suave quanto na maioria dos tablets Android devido, em parte, à taxa de atualização de 60 Hz da tela. Atualmente, a maioria dos tablets já adotou taxas de atualização mais altas, como a tela de 120 Hz do Lenovo P11.

Desempenho da GPU

Os usuários não devem esperar que o processador integrado Adreno 690 integrada supere o desempenho da Iris Xe ou Série Radeon RX Vega já que ela é executada em um envelope de energia mais baixo e é resfriada passivamente. Mesmo assim, o 3DMark 11 revela que a GPU da Qualcomm é pelo menos mais rápida do que a antiga UHD Graphics série. Os melhores aspectos do Robo e Kala TW220 são a tela sensível ao toque OLED, o desempenho decente da ARM e o preço relativamente acessível para um chassi de alumínio e uma base de teclado bem construídos. A tela OLED, em particular, ajuda a diferenciar o TW220 das séries concorrentes Surface Pro e Surface Go e é um destaque do modelo. Os usuários que podem apreciar ou explorar as cores mais amplas e os níveis de preto mais profundos do OLED acharão o TW220 mais valioso do que a maioria dos outros tablets Windows.

Se você puder lidar com as limitações do Windows ARM, o Robo e Kala TW220 seria uma alternativa econômica ao Surface Go 3 ou até mesmo ao Surface Pro 9 se você não precisar da potência de um Intel Core i7.
