Gabinete: ExpertBook de alumínio com dobradiças um tanto instáveis

Enquanto a Asus usa designs bastante extravagantes com destaques visuais para sua linha ZenBook, o ExpertBook tem um visual mais discreto. O ultrabook empresarial é todo revestido de alumínio cinza fosco. Somente o logotipo prateado do ExpertBook, que também inclui uma seta azul, se destaca na tampa. Na parte interna, há três listras azuis nos botões de volume. Além disso, as bordas do apoio para as mãos e do touchpad são brilhantes.

O chassi de alumínio proporciona aos usuários uma sensação agradável de qualidade superior. O material não atrai sujeira e a estabilidade na área da unidade básica e do teclado é excelente. Mais fraca é a tampa da tela, que não é muito rígida. Essa parte do laptop é, em geral, o ponto mais fraco da construção, pois as dobradiças nos decepcionam por serem instáveis. Pelo menos elas permitem a abertura com uma mão em até 180 graus.

Em suma, a qualidade do ExpertBook é boa, mas não está no nível mais alto dos notebooks premium. Em comparação com os laptops de consumo da Asus, ele deve cumprir testes de qualidade muito mais rigorosos, como 50.000 em vez de 20.000 ciclos de abertura/fechamento da tampa e um teste de queda de 61 cm de altura em vez de 30.

Segurança

Como esse é um laptop para o mercado empresarial, a Asus oferece alguns recursos de segurança. Manutenção

Para abrir o Asus ExpertBook, é necessário soltar oito pequenos parafusos de cabeça Philips, que não são fixos e, portanto, podem se perder. Além disso, a tampa inferior é fixada com alguns clipes nas bordas - abri-los não é muito fácil, pois as tolerâncias entre as peças são estreitas.

Quando a tampa é removida, todos os componentes, exceto o teclado, o touchpad e a tela, ficam acessíveis. O ExpertBook tem dois slots para SSD M.2, um M.2 2280 e um M.2 2230. O Wi-Fi também é modular, mas não há 5G/4G opcional. A RAM faz parte do pacote da CPU, como acontece em todos os sistemas Lunar Lake, e, portanto, é soldada. Teclado

O teclado do Asus ExpertBook P5 P5405 tem teclas Chiclet com distância de deslocamento de 1,5 mm. A função de luz de fundo de LED do teclado pode ser ativada com FN+F7 e há três níveis diferentes de brilho. Com uma largura de teclado de 27,5 cm, o teclado é apenas um pouco menos largo do que a largura padrão ISO. Seu layout é o mesmo de um laptop normal, o que significa que não há botões de navegação dedicados. Em vez disso, os botões PgUp/Down e End/Home são acessíveis por meio de FN mais as teclas de seta. Por falar nas teclas de seta, elas são bem pequenas, especialmente as verticais. As teclas F não estão agrupadas e são difíceis de usar sem olhar para baixo. Também digno de nota: Para o novo botão Copilot, a tecla Ctrl direita teve que desaparecer.

Touchpad

A Asus coloca uma grande placa de vidro para o touchpad. Ele mede 13 x 8 cm. A superfície é agradável, embora mostre rapidamente as impressões digitais. Ela é suave o suficiente para permitir o deslizamento dos dedos sem muito atrito. Infelizmente, há uma leve oscilação aqui. O clickpad mecânico, que pode ser clicado na metade inferior, tem uma ligeira oscilação quando o senhor simplesmente desliza sobre ele. A Asus oferece dois processadores Lunar Lake diferentes no laptop ExpertBook: O Intel Core Ultra 5 226V e o Core Ultra 7 258V. Com a escolha do processador, os compradores também escolhem a RAM e a GPU: O Ultra 5 é equipado com 16 GB LPDDR5X-8500 e o Intel ARC 130Ve o Ultra 7 com 32 GB e o Intel ARC 140V. Processador

O Intel Core Ultra 7 258V é um novo processador da geração Intel Lunar Lake. Os chips que dependem do processo de fabricação da TSMC têm quatro grandes núcleos Lion Cove P (até 4,8 GHz) e quatro pequenos núcleos Skymont E (até 3,7 GHz), todos os quais não usam hyperthreading. O progresso em termos de desempenho em comparação com os processadores Intel mais antigos é claramente visível nos benchmarks, tanto nos testes de núcleo único quanto nos de vários núcleos. Quando se trata de desempenho multicore, os concorrentes da Qualcomm e da AMD têm a vantagem. Aqui, o Lunar Lake simplesmente não consegue competir devido ao baixo número de threads, o que o torna mais adequado para tarefas leves do que para tarefas pesadas. Muito bom: Não há sinal de estrangulamento aqui. O chip Intel mantém seu desempenho perfeitamente.

No modo de bateria, o desempenho é reduzido em cerca de 40%.

A Intel ARC Graphics 140V é a mais nova versão dos gráficos integrados do processador Intel e, até o momento, a mais potente. A GPU Xe2 no Asus ExpertBook P5 P5405 oferece altas pontuações de benchmark. Nos benchmarks sintéticos do 3DMark, ela fica um pouco atrás da AMD Radeon 890M, mas está à frente quando se trata de jogos. Até mesmo os jogos mais recentes podem ser jogados com a iGPU, embora com configurações gráficas mais baixas. O Asus ExpertBook é um notebook muito silencioso. Sob carga, a ventoinha é ligada, mas mesmo assim, cerca de 31 dB(a) não são nada de especial. Ao navegar, a ventoinha às vezes liga, mas permanece quase inaudível, com apenas 28 dB(a).

Não houve nenhum ruído de bobina com esse notebook da Asus.

Alto-falantes

Os alto-falantes do Asus ExpertBook são voltados para baixo. Não é exatamente o ideal quando se usa o laptop no colo. Em termos de qualidade, eles são muito bons, até mesmo com alguma base. O volume máximo poderia ser melhor, mas para alto-falantes de laptop, os do ExpertBook estão um pouco acima da média, com certeza.
