O Acer TravelMate pontua com uma forte CPU Alder Lake, emissões moderadas e bons tempos de funcionamento da bateria. Uma grande tela de 16 polegadas no formato 16:10 (1.920 x 1.200 pixels) e uma garantia de três anos completam o pacote geral.

Acer consolida todos os seus laptops comerciais internos dentro da série TravelMate. O modelo em questão - um notebook de escritório de médio porte - é alimentado por umIntel Core i5-1240P-CPU e apresenta um display de 16 polegadas no formato 16:10. A competição inclui dispositivos como o Lenovo ThinkPad T16 G1 e o HP EliteBook 865 G9.

Estojo e características: O TravelMate P4 oferece o Thunderbolt 4

A caixa em liga de alumínio-magnésio vem com acabamento em azul fosco, azul escuro (azul ardósia). O chassi não apresenta nenhuma falha de fabricação. A unidade base e a tampa podem ser um pouco torcidas, mas o flex ainda está completamente dentro dos limites. A tampa se abre até um ângulo máximo de 180°. As vísceras são acessíveis após a remoção da unidade base.

O laptop vem com duas portas USB 3.2 Gen1 Tipo A e dois slots Thunderbolt 4 USB-C. As portas Thunderbolt 4 suportam o fornecimento de energia e podem emitir um sinal DisplayPort. Assim, junto com o slot HDMI, o laptop oferece até três saídas de vídeo. Um leitor de cartão de memória microSD moderadamente rápido está a bordo, raramente visto é sua colocação na parte frontal. A webcam de 0,9 MP 720p vem com um obturador mecânico.

As taxas de transferência WLAN determinadas sob condições ótimas, como nenhum outro dispositivo WLAN nas proximidades e a curta distância entre o TravelMate P4 e o PC do servidor, se revelam excelentes. As conexões de rede com fio são tratadas por um chip Ethernet Gigabit RTL8168/8111 da Realtek.

As teclas pares e suaves do teclado chiclet iluminado têm um curso curto e um ponto de pressão claro. O teclado dificilmente cede durante a digitação. A iluminação das teclas em dois estágios é controlada através de uma tecla de função. Tudo somado, a Acer fornece um teclado adequado para o uso diário.

Um clickpad multi-toque capaz (aproximadamente 15,2 x 9,2 cm) serve como um substituto do mouse, cuja superfície lisa facilita o deslizamento dos dedos. O tapete responde às entradas nos cantos, oferece um curso curto e um ponto de pressão claro.

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

É possível alternar entre os três perfis de desempenho específicos do fabricante (ver tabela) através da combinação de teclas "Fn" + "F". Foram usados os perfis "Performance Mode", para os benchmarks, e "Silent Mode", para o teste de bateria.

Processador

O Núcleo i5-1240P-Processador (Alder Lake) consiste em quatro núcleos de desempenho com hiperthreading e relógios de 1,7 a 4,4 GHz, e oito núcleos de eficiência sem hiperthreading operando de 1,2 a 3,3 GHz. No total, isto resulta em 16 núcleos lógicos de CPU.

Os testes de CPU do benchmark Cinebench R15 são executados com taxas de relógio de média-alta a alta (multi-tarefa) ou alta a máxima (rosca única) em operação de rede. No modo de bateria, as taxas de relógio são significativamente mais baixas.

O teste de loop CB15 mostra os relógios turbo caindo para um nível médio a partir da segunda corrida.

As aplicações de escritório e internet são tratadas pela combinação instalada de umNúcleo i5-1240P e 16 GB de RAM (dual-channel), que também funciona decentemente para jogos modestos. A CPU absorve picos de carga curtos com muita potência de computação, mas tem que diminuir a velocidade durante a carga de longo prazo - não é possível obter um desempenho máximo sustentado sob carga.

A Acer fornece um companheiro de negócios bem equipado e discreto com o TravelMate P4.

O desenvolvimento de calor e ruído é aceitável, mas o ventilador poderia ter sido mais silencioso sob carga total. A mobilidade é um dado adquirido graças ao peso bastante baixo (aproximadamente 1,6 kg), a caixa compacta e um tempo de funcionamento WLAN de aproximadamente 9,5 horas.
