Análise do Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon G11 - O carro-chefe de negócios caro e estagnado

Novo processador, mesmo desempenho.

O ThinkPad X1 Carbon G11 é apenas uma pequena atualização com um processador Intel Raptor Lake atual que mal oferece potência adicional, além da tela padrão integrada de baixo consumo de energia, que já está ficando um pouco ultrapassada. Então, o preço alto se justifica?

Por muitos anos, o ThinkPad X1 Carbon tem sido o principal laptop de negócios da Lenovo. Seus clientes esperam bons dispositivos de entrada, um design móvel fino, componentes atualizados, bateria de longa duração e, é claro, um companheiro confiável para o dia a dia. Nesse meio tempo, já estamos na 11ª geração. Portanto, gostaríamos de descobrir se essas são exigências justas feitas ao atual ThinkPad X1 Carbon ou se ele está se apoiando nos louros de seu sucesso anterior.

Estamos analisando a variante 21HNS00000 com um Core i7-1365U32 GB de RAM, um SSD de 1 TB, bem como uma tela IPS de baixo consumo com resolução Full HD. É possível montar uma configuração semelhante (sem LTE) na loja on-line da Lenovo, mas por um preço relativamente caro de cerca de US$2135.

Estojo e recursos

A Lenovo adotou a caixa preta inalterada do modelo do ano passado. A combinação da fibra de carbono da tampa e do plástico reforçado, bem como a liga de alumínio e magnésio da unidade base, garantem um gabinete extremamente estável e a qualidade de construção também é impecável. As superfícies lisas também são ótimas, mas precisam ser limpas regularmente, pois as áreas mais usadas começam a ficar um pouco manchadas depois de um tempo - algo que também experimentamos com o antecessor. Também comparamos o novo G11 com o nosso G7 particular e o novo modelo é um pouco mais fino devido ao painel com proporção de 16:10, mas também um pouco mais profundo. Em termos de espessura da unidade básica, não há alterações. Com um pouco menos de 1,2 kg, o X1 Carbon G11 ainda é geralmente móvel e não ocupa muito espaço na bagagem de mão.

Com relação às portas, ainda há uma boa seleção, incluindo a Thunderbolt 4, mas, mais uma vez, não há um leitor de cartão SD. Nosso dispositivo de análise está equipado com um módulo LTE, incluindo um slot Nano SIM, que pode ser atualizado opcionalmente para um módulo 5G. O módulo Wi-Fi da Intel (AX211) corresponde aos padrões atuais e as taxas de transferência em nosso teste de Wi-Fi foram muito boas.

A webcam grava imagens em resolução Full HD e a qualidade é decente em boas condições de iluminação. Além disso, funções como foco suave, fundo virtual ou rastreamento de olhos já estão incorporadas e podem ser encontradas no aplicativo de câmera normal do Windows. No entanto, é questionável se as especificações da câmera de 1080p e do microfone deveriam estar inscritas na parte frontal da tampa.

Dispositivos de entrada - X1 Carbon ainda com curso de tecla de 1,5 mm

Nada mudou na área dos dispositivos de entrada. Embora a Lenovo já tenha reduzido o deslocamento de algumas teclas do modelo ThinkPad para 1,35 mm, o X1 Carbon tem 1,5 mm e, no geral, estamos lidando com um teclado muito bom, embora em termos de qualidade, não atinja os mesmos níveis dos modelos anteriores. Além disso, não há mais vantagens em comparação com os laptops empresariais premium, por exemplo, da HP. Da mesma forma, o touchpad de vidro funciona muito bem e oferece sons de clique sólidos e de alta qualidade. As teclas dedicadas do Trackpoint são de qualidade inferior e fazem um clique um pouco mais alto.

Tela - Um painel IPS de baixo consumo de energia

O painel IPS fosco de 1920 x 1080 pixels é aquele com o qual já estamos familiarizados há alguns anos. O painel de baixo consumo é a tela básica e há também versões opcionais com telas sensíveis ao toque, a tela ePrivacy e um painel OLED. No entanto, não podemos recomendar as duas últimas opções, pois a tela OLED sofre com a oscilação de PWM e a duração da bateria é bastante prejudicada. Com relação ao modelo ePrivacy, os ângulos de visão são bastante limitados, mesmo em operação normal.

Basicamente, as especificações da tela de baixo consumo são decentes, mas, considerando que estamos em 2023, a Lenovo pode melhorar em algumas áreas. Por exemplo, um aumento no brilho e na taxa de atualização. A qualidade subjetiva da imagem continua boa e as áreas claras não parecem granuladas. Com a Lenovo, é um pouco de loteria de painel de exibição e o painel AU Optronics no dispositivo atual cai um pouco em termos de brilho com uma média de 380 cd/m². Juntamente com os tempos de resposta lentos (há um efeito fantasma visível), o painel está bem abaixo na tabela dos dispositivos concorrentes. No entanto, o nível de preto de 0,21 cd/m² é muito baixo e leva a uma taxa de contraste máxima de mais de 1800:1. A tela não sofre com PWM e o sangramento da tela é praticamente inexistente.

Medimos o painel com o software profissional CalMAN (X-Rite i1 Pro2) e, logo de cara, a imagem é um pouco quente demais e também sofre com uma tonalidade amarela. Para um laptop comercial, esses valores são aceitáveis. Com a nossa própria calibração, conseguimos melhorar a imagem (o perfil pode ser baixado acima, gratuitamente) e apenas 100% de vermelho continua sendo um valor fora do padrão. O painel cobre o pequeno espaço de cores sRGB e é suficiente para o uso pretendido.

Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 8705 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 343500) Hz was measured.

Desempenho - O ThinkPad está equipado com um processador Raptor Lake U

Mais uma vez, a Lenovo está oferecendo processadores das séries U e P. No entanto, como descobrimos no ano passado, as CPUs da série P não valem a pena devido ao resfriamento deficiente. A RAM é soldada e não pode ser expandida.

 
 

Condições de teste

Há algum tempo, a Lenovo vincula os modos de energia adicionais do software Vantage às configurações de energia do Windows. Por esse motivo, os seguintes benchmarks e medições foram realizados usando o modo Melhor Desempenho .

Processador - A Core i7-1365U

A geração Raptor LakeIntel Core i7-1365Uoferece dois núcleos de desempenho rápido de até 5,2 GHz e oito núcleos de eficiência com um máximo de 3,9 GHz, de modo que o chip pode processar no máximo 12 threads simultaneamente. No final das contas, estamos lidando com o antigo Core i7-1265Uem uma taxa de clock um pouco mais alta. Como um chip da série U, o TDP nominal é de 15 watts, mas, por um curto período de tempo, o i7 dentro do X1 Carbon pode consumir até 55 watts, com os quais o resfriamento só consegue lidar por cerca de um segundo. Em todos os cenários, sob carga contínua, observamos uma flutuação no consumo de energia entre 12 e 34 watts, o que significa que o novo modelo está apenas um pouco à frente de seuAntecessor G10. É difícil encontrar processadores AMD em laptops empresariais de ponta e, especialmente quando se trata de desempenho de vários núcleos, as CPUs Ryzen têm uma clara vantagem. Por esse motivo, não vale a pena fazer o upgrade do modelo do ano passado e também devido ao resfriamento deficiente do chip Raptor Lake P. No modo de bateria, o desempenho da CPU é ligeiramente reduzido (~8%) e outros benchmarks de CPU podem ser encontrados aqui.

As taxas de transferência são boas, mas esse alto nível não pode ser mantido sob carga constante. No entanto, isso não importa no uso diário no escritório. A placa de vídeo é a conhecida Xe Graphics G7 da Intelque já está em operação há algum tempo. Essa potência é certamente suficiente para as tarefas diárias de escritório. Além disso, a reprodução de vídeos de alta resolução não apresentou nenhum problema. No entanto, o desempenho não foi estável e o dispositivo falhou no teste de estresse do 3DMark Time Spy (75,8%). Em nosso loop Witcher 3, também observamos flutuações significativas que reduzem ainda mais os recursos de jogos já limitados da iGPU.

No modo de bateria, o desempenho é cerca de 10% menor. Outros benchmarks de GPU podem ser encontradosaqui.

Emissões de ruído

Em termos de ventoinhas, o limite de alta potência do processador se faz notar, pois as duas ventoinhas pequenas têm muito trabalho sob carga. Com um máximo de 42,7 dB(A), elas também são muito barulhentas para essa classe de desempenho. É preciso ser crítico aqui e perguntar por que um processador da série U funciona com limites de potência tão altos. Não foi possível detectar ruídos eletrônicos adicionais.

Temperatura

Não houve problemas quando se tratou de tarefas simples, mas assim que o processador foi submetido a uma carga mais pesada, a parte superior esquerda da unidade básica esquentou muito rapidamente. Nessa área do dispositivo, medimos até 45 °C, o que é simplesmente demais, considerando os ventiladores barulhentos e o baixo desempenho. Por esse motivo, a Lenovo deveria fazer uma revisão no resfriamento do modelo.

No teste de estresse, tivemos o mesmo comportamento observado com a carga da CPU. A CPU alcançou brevemente 55 watts e, em seguida, começou a variar em uma área entre 12 e 34 watts e permaneceu lá durante o restante do teste.

Alto-falantes

Os alto-falantes continuam sendo muito bons, especialmente para um dispositivo comercial. Nessa área, o X1 Carbon não deve sentir a necessidade de se esconder, mesmo de subnotebooks como oHuawei Matebook X Pro. Suas expectativas devem ser mantidas sob controle quando se trata de graves, mas, apesar disso, a qualidade é suficiente para chamadas de videoconferência e similares.

Quando se trata da duração da bateria do X1 Carbon, sua tela de baixo consumo ajuda a mostrar seu melhor lado. Com 150 cd/m² (representando 78% do brilho máximo da tela), registramos um tempo de execução de cerca de 14 horas nos testes de vídeo e Wi-Fi. Mesmo com o brilho total, o teste de Wi-Fi ainda durou cerca de 10 horas e, sob carga, o dispositivo deixou de funcionar após uma hora e meia. Como comparação: O modelo OLED do ano passado só conseguiu 5 horas em nosso teste de Wi-Fi, ou seja, 9 horas a menos. Com o laptop ligado, uma carga completa leva 113 minutos, mas após cerca de 39 minutos, o usuário tem 60% da bateria disponível.

A geração G11 do ThinkPad X1 Carbon é uma atualização relativamente pequena com um processador Raptor Lake e agora pode ser equipada opcionalmente com um módulo 5G. O restante do dispositivo permaneceu o mesmo, incluindo a opção de tela. A tela padrão, integrada e de baixo consumo de energia ainda é uma boa opção, mas gostaríamos que o laptop empresarial recebesse uma atualização. Por exemplo, um painel IPS premium com melhor brilho, tempos de resposta decentes e uma taxa de atualização mais alta. A opção OLED (que analisamos no modelo G10) não é, em nossa opinião, uma boa opção, apesar da boa qualidade de imagem (cintilação PWM, vida útil da bateria muito reduzida) e também a tela ePrivacy tem problemas com ângulos de visão muito limitados (mesmo quando o filtro de privacidade integrado está desativado).

No entanto, estamos surpresos com o fato de a Lenovo não ter conseguido lidar com o fornecimento de energia, sem muitas outras novidades. Vale a pena fazer a pergunta crítica de por que os limites de potência são tão altos, considerando o desempenho limitado do resfriamento. Em benchmarks curtos, o desempenho é bom, mas é improvável que o usuário sinta os benefícios, especialmente quando o desempenho cai rapidamente e as ventoinhas ficam muito barulhentas.

O ThinkPad X1 Carbon G11 tem problemas de desempenho em suas mãos e, no geral, o chip Raptor Lake não oferece nenhuma melhoria digna de nota. Uma atualização é necessária, especialmente no que diz respeito à tela básica. No entanto, o X1 Carbon também tem muitos aspectos positivos na forma de um gabinete sólido, recursos abrangentes e uma bateria de longa duração.

O X1 Carbon ainda oferece muitas vantagens, a começar pelo gabinete robusto, excelente seleção de portas (com um módulo 5G opcional), um bom teclado (embora já tenha sido melhor), alto-falantes eficientes e uma bateria de longa duração combinada com a tela de baixo consumo de energia. Entretanto, por US$ 2135 (sem LTE), não é uma pechincha e, por esse preço, você não deveria ter que lidar com problemas de desempenho.
