Iris Xe Max pouco fez para impressionar, mas o mesmo não pode ser dito sobre a GPU regular Iris Xe 96 EU. Com mais de trinta laptops da 11ª geração sob nossa correia, podemos agora pintar um quadro mais amplo de como o Iris Xe funciona quando comparado com todas as GPUs móveis Radeon Vega da Ryzen atualmente disponíveis.

Quando nós primeiro aferido Iris Xe, no início de outubro de 2020, encontramos um um punhado de bugs e colisões específicas do jogo que acabou por tornar a GPU Intel menos confiável do que a alternativa clássica GeForce MX. O desempenho também foi mais instável em certos títulos como GTA V ou Apex Legends. Agora que estamos quase na metade do caminho de 2021, desde então testamos mais dúzias de Tiger Lake laptops rodando com drivers atualizados do que nossa unidade inicial Tiger Lake em 2020 estava faltando. Também estamos começando a ter uma idéia melhor de como Iris Xe se compara à atual linha de CPUs Ryzen móveis. Em média, as taxas de quadros são comparáveis com a Radeon RX Vega 8 4000 que é atualmente a GPU integrada mais rápida na plataforma Zen 2 Ryzen 7 Lucienne da AMD. Outras GPUs integradas Radeon RX Vega como a Vega 6, 9 ou 10 são todas consistentemente mais lentas que a Iris Xe por margens relativamente amplas. O uso do 3DMark para julgar as diferenças de desempenho entre Iris Xe e Radeon RX Vega nem sempre é confiável e por isso também incluímos benchmarks de jogos do mundo real abaixo. Ao todo, é uma exibição impressionante da Intel considerando que eles eram uma ordem de magnitude por trás da AMD em termos de desempenho gráfico integrado há apenas um par de anos.
