Para quem lamentava a bateria de baixa duração do seu antecessor, o upgrade em capacidade e as otimizações do sistema tornaram o celular uma ótima alternativa aos topos de linha com o formato clássico em barra. The refreshed design looks and feels as good as I could have hoped for, the hinge feels fantastic, the processor has more power than you could ever need, and the display looks amazing. I wish Samsung could have extended battery life even more and really taken the cover screen to the next level, but even without those things, the Z Flip 4 is still a joy to use. If you want a flagship with industry-leading cameras, multi-day battery life, or lightning-fast charging, there are plenty of other options for you to choose from. But if you’re OK sacrificing some of those things for a design unlike anything else, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is the best in its class. It’s not the most technically impressive phone in every single category, but it’s stylish, adorable, and fun in ways that traditional slab smartphones will never be able to match. And the areas where the Flip 3 struggled — such as battery life and charging — are noticeably better on the Flip 4. Combine that unique approach with precision execution in so many categories, and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 stands tall as one of my favorite smartphones of the year. No matter how boring it’s supposed to be.

However stereotypical it may sound, I also have the impression that the Galaxy Z Flip4 is a perfect smartphone for a woman - small, nice, shapely, interesting and well-equipped, uncompromising. Do I recommend Flip? If you think it's a phone for you, definitely yes, because it's hard to find many weaknesses in it. Although I wouldn't buy it myself, I think I can recommend it to you. And it's all about the fourth Galaxy Z Flip ... I hope to write a little more about the fifth one!

With a DXOMARK Audio score of 130, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 delivers an overall reliable and consistent audio performance, both in playback and recording, and achieves similar results to many other Samsung Galaxy models. However, it cannot quite keep up with the best in class. In Playback, it performs on a very similar level across all use cases, delivering good tonal balance and dynamics, without hardly any artifacts. However, our testers were expecting a better spatial performance, given that the device is pretty big when unfolded, and in terms of volume, the Z Flip4 is not quite on the same level as some of its more conventional Samsung Galaxy cousins. As a recording device, the Z Flip4 does best for front camera and main camera recordings and is less recommendable for office and memo recordings, mainly because it defaults to mono recording when using the corresponding apps. Other than that, recordings made with the Samsung offer good timbre in most use cases, as well as excellent signal-to-noise ratio and distance rendition. On the downside, wind noise reduction is not very effective, and the device lacks an audio zoom feature.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4’s battery performance placed the device in the lower half of our database. It performed poorly in our autonomy tests, consuming a lot of power during idle phases and across all calibrated tests, especially music streaming and gaming. When used outside, it also showed a very low autonomy across all our use cases, especially when using GPS navigation. The 25W charger took 2 hours and 4 minutes to fully charge the small 3700 mAh battery, which is longer than the average in our database. The overall charge efficiency was low, but the charger efficiency was decent. This charger consumed very little power when it was just plugged into a socket, or when the device was fully charged and still plugged in. The wireless charger didn’t do any better, taking 2 hours and 37 minutes to fully charge the device. The charge efficiency was really low, and the residual consumption of the wireless stand itself was the highest in our database to date. The discharge currents were low on average, meaning that the device is well-optimized, except during idle time and music streaming. When compared with devices from the Ultra-premium segment ($800+), the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 stays in the second half of our ranking, having a very low charging score, and the lowest on-the-go score to date. However, the efficiency score is excellent thanks to very low discharge currents.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 is a good choice for still photo enthusiasts thanks to its overall good stable and accurate performance when taking photos indoors or outdoors. The foldable phone’s main camera takes photos that show a generally accurate exposure along with a wide dynamic range. Autofocus is fast and accurate in most conditions tested in photo and video. The colors are pleasantly rendered during video sequences. Still photos are captured with a high level of detail, even when using the ultra-wide camera, with its extensive maximum wide angle of view (123°). However, the primary camera’s field of view is rather narrow at 83°. Because the device does not have a tele module, the Samsung Z Flip4 is unlikely to appeal to smartphone photographers who like to zoom when shooting. Videographers will find that low light performance is poor, with images that are often underexposed. In such conditions, details are also frequently lost and noise is visible.

While readability is generally quite good, darker details in pictures are hard to see when viewed in indoor conditions, and the screen can be uncomfortably bright when reading at night without using the blue light filter.

You’re probably not buying this because you’re chasing value or the best bang for your buck, and that’s alright. Just keep it in mind when making your comparisons.

It has put in just enough effort to change or improve the parts of the previous Flip model that fell short. Everything else pretty much remains the same. This is not a bad thing, as the Galaxy Z Flip 3 (Review) was a drastically improved version of the original Galaxy Z Flip and was almost there in terms of being a practical everyday smartphone.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is the embodiment of Samsung's foldable efforts over the last three years. The design is elegant but durable at the same time, the hinge is built to last, and the 120Hz AMOLED screen is wonderful in daily use. The cameras are on the same level as the S22+, the outer cover screen acts as a viewfinder, and battery lasts all day and has faster charging tech. More than anything else, this is a fun foldable to use, and if you want a phone that stands out, the Z Flip 4 is the obvious choice.

Lastly, when the phone is folded out into portrait mode the screen is pretty slim and is a little cramped to type on. This device could easily be a little wider without sacrificing much in terms of weight and compactness – and it would improve the usability of the screen in portrait mode and allow the battery to be a little larger.

On first impressions, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 isn’t all that different from the previous generation, but there are a few key changes that make it worth a look. First of all, the expanded battery capacity should offer better longevity (up to a point, at least), while the camera improvements will be welcome for social butterflies. The £833 price tag is a little steep compared to traditional smartphones, but isn’t all that extortionate for something in this category. This phone doesn’t seem like it’s going to set the world on fire, but if you’re after a compact foldable, it may be one to watch.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 are the best foldables around, but more importantly, they are great phones on their own. You could argue that some of their rivals are better in one way or another, but the reality is that there isn't a more daily-driver-ready foldable out there, nor one as readily available as Samsung's Z series. And now in their fourth generation, the Galaxy Z series is that much better in the most important ways. Making the cameras better was long overdue and Samsung did it. We hoped for an autofocusing ultrawide camera, but the reality is that most people wouldn't notice a difference. We could also wish for a periscope zoom on the Galaxy Z Fold4, but that would put the Galaxy S22 Ultra in too much danger, and once again, most people probably wouldn't notice or at least care as much. Samsung made the folding phone a few years ago and now it's making it as good as the regular one, one step at a time. Last year we got durability and the S Pen, this year we got better cameras and small refinements that go a long way in the course of 12 months of using a phone.

But it’s definitely not for everyone. Like I’ve said, this is not the phone that you get if you want the best overall experience. Ultimately, the standard slate form factor is something that’s been refined for 15 years now. We know what works and what doesn’t. This flipping phone is something that’s still somewhat new, so yes, slate phones at the same price will have better cameras, and in many cases, better performance.

Qualcomm Adreno 730:

Chip gráfico para smartphones e tablets que está integrado no SoC da Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. A Qualcomm afirma que é 30% mais rápida que a Adreno 660 no SoC Snapdragon 888. Para o Android deveria ser uma das placas gráficas mais rápidas no final de 2021.

Estas placas também devem ser capazes de agüentar todos os jogos atuais, mas a maioria deles em configurações de detalhes médios e baixos e com baixas resoluções. Jogos mais antigos, ou menos exigentes ainda podem ser jogados com boa qualidade de gráficos.

SD 8+ Gen 1:

SoC high-end para smartphones que foi introduzido no final de 2021 e fabricado em 4 nm na TSMC. Integra um "Prime Core" baseado em uma arquitetura ARM Cortex-X2 com relógio de até 3,2 GHz. Mais três núcleos de desempenho são baseados no A710, mas relógio até 2,5 GHz. Além disso, quatro núcleos de economia de energia são integrados que são baseados na arquitetura ARM Cortex-A510 e relógio de até 1,8 GHz. Além dos núcleos de processador, o SoC integra um modem WiFi 6e, um Hexagon DSP (para aceleração de IA) e um Spectra ISP. O controlador de memória integrado suporta memória LPDDR5 rápida com até 3.200 MHz. 5G está agora incluído no chip com o modem Snapdragon X65. Em comparação com a versão não mais, a 8+ Gen 1 oferece um Prime Core de 200 MHz mais alto clocked e uma GPU de 10% mais alta clocked. Além disso, ele agora é produzido na TSMC e não na Samsung.
