From a pure hardware perspective, the Tab S8 Ultra is still one of the best tablets around. Excellent performance is matched by a slender design that keeps the whole package as lightweight and comfortable as possible given the colossal display. The question is: who is the S8 Ultra for? Great as that display is for watching TV and film, this is surely too expensive a device for most to pick up for media streaming or Android gaming. And while it’s a capable work device, once you throw in the keyboard case the calibre of laptop alternatives improves drastically, most of which will still be better work machines thanks to the software limitations endemic to Android on tablets. Of course, the real edge here is versatility. No cheaper tablets will match the S8 Ultra’s productivity prowess, and none of the laptops can compete as media devices.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is an attractive product with a stunning design that doesn’t make much sense to buy, at least in the current situation, this 14.6-inch tablet is a significant advantage over the Galaxy Tab S8, except for the 2-inch larger screen, dual selfie camera and faster stylus. Plus has nothing to justify the price difference of 200$. Check out Galaxy S23 Ultra Review. On the other side of the field, we have the iPad Pro; Currently, you can buy the iPad Pro 2021 and the second-generation Apple Pencil with the same price tag as the Tab S8 Ultra. This device uses more powerful hardware and a set of more efficient apps; In addition, it has a better aspect ratio and a brighter display with a variable refresh rate, which adds to the enjoyment of the user experience and battery life.

That battery life, coupled with the incredible display, bundled stylus and competitive pricing makes me desperately want to recommend the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra as an alternative to the 12.9in iPad Pro. It is, in many respects, a ground breaking product. Alas, I can’t, and that’s due to a steady accumulation of negatives. The clunky keyboard case, the hyper-sensitive touchpad and most significantly, the continuing lack of Android apps that are specifically tailored for use on bigger screens undermine the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8’s broader appeal. If Google were to change that, then it’s just possible a device like this make a serious challenge to the 12.9in Apple iPad Pro. As it is, however, it feels like a product that’s ahead of its time.

Can I recommend this tablet? Sure, if you really need to use its special features. Otherwise it would be a waste of money. The stylus functionality is used to its maximum, but not everyone needs it. The large screen creates excellent conditions for multi-window multitasking and comfortable interaction with familiar applications through the touch interface. The powerful chip fully unlocks the potential of other system components so that you get a really pleasant experience of using the tablet – fast and smooth operation of the interface, launching many applications simultaneously and easy switching between them, fast execution of even complex tasks. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is the coolest device with the highest performance and functionality to date. It has almost no weaknesses in technical terms, there are only some issues of ergonomics and scenarios of use, due to the giant size of this beauty. And the price reminds us once again that premium things cost accordingly. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is the coolest device with the highest performance and functionality to date. If you can get over the size of the tablet, I can see people who sketch or draw enjoying the S Pen and the large display. Storing the S Pen on the back may not be optimal, though, as it will get knocked off and not charged up if you set the tablet down on a table without using a case. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is a nice demonstration of Samsung's technical innovation, but the S8 and S8 Plus are likely much more practical for most people. When you jump to a tablet of this size and price, a full-fledged laptop is a better option than a tablet with an operating system that is not complete and optimized for the tablet form factor.

Samsung is not backward in coming forward with its products – it has boldly released superb TVs, powerful and folding smartphones and a projector you can take anywhere. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is the embodiment of what a luxurious and powerful Android tablet should be. However, you just can’t get the complete experience of all that it has to offer without the keyboard cover. The keyboard and the trackpad elevate the user experience to a whole new level, but it comes at an added cost, $349 to be precise. Let’s not forget that prices for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra start at $1,099. So buying it with the keyboard cover puts you firmly in laptop territory. You can easily buy a full-fledged laptop with the latest specs for even less than that. So it begs the question, why buy the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra then? There are plenty of workflows where the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will fit in nicely, particularly for those in creative endeavors. This could work as a laptop replacement if all that you need to use is available on the Android ecosystem but at this price, you can easily get a proper laptop and a more affordable tablet with some money still left over. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is the biggest and most powerful Android tablet that you can buy at the moment. The Book Cover Keyboard case (which needs to be bought separately) makes it way more versatile. If you own a Samsung smartphone, you will get a few ecosystem benefits. This tablet will appeal to digital artists and graphics designers who could benefit from the S Pen stylus, and that might justify its high cost. For users who want a tablet for media consumption and don't mind splurging, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra could be worth considering as well. However, I'm of the opinion that it would be overkill for such use cases, in terms of both size and cost. This is the perfect example of how good Android tablets can get, but it has a very niche appeal. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ offers the same hardware in a more manageable size, and that would be my recommendation to most people. Those open to alternatives can consider the 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro instead.

So, in conclusion, for the price of RM5,899 – yes that is the price of this tablet, and it is definitely a super hefty price. This product is definitely not for everyone – mainly because of the size and the price. I’d have to say – for those who just want a large device mainly for gaming or watching shows on the go but are still able to whip our a document and email side-by-side and do work, then the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is pretty much the jack-of-all-trades that you’re looking for. Plus, being able to draw with the S Pen is a huge boon that I think many people will want. That kickstand accessory is definitely one of the best kickstands I’ve used so far, and it just works very well – and that keyboard is also magnificent to type on. Spending this much on a premium tablet might be questionable for some but I am not here to tell you how to spend your money. This review is to let you know more in-depth details about the tablet before purchasing. But before we end the review – here’s one last weight measurement with the tablet, kickstand, and the Book Cover Keyboard together.

This is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, and make no mistake, this product does NOT intend to be your tablet. I've always considered those to be more of a companion device that's not trying to replace your computer. Most are easy to carry, creating that sort of notepad feel, which only gets augmented by stylus input. Sure, you can use it for some productivity, but usually they're more consumption tools that can help you be creative.

Ultimately, the Tab S8 Ultra is a tablet that’s the size of a laptop, mimics a laptop’s form factor (especially when paired with its keyboard case), and comes with the price tag of a laptop. But it’s far from as capable as a laptop that is more comfortable to use and easier to be productive with. Still, as a tech demo, the Tab S8 Ultra is an interesting thing, and it’s possible that Samsung will continue iterating on this idea of an oversized tablet in future generations, much like it has done with the Galaxy Fold line of phones. For now, it’s best to wait this out.

For Malaysia, there’s only one RAM/storage configuration and colour choice available for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. In terms of hardware, our Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra retail sample for the Malaysia market is armed for bear. You get the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor running under the hood, 12GB RAM and 256GB of expandable storage via a microSD card slot. In case that flew by a bit too fast, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has a slot for a microSD card slot that allows you to augment the memory with a card up to 1TB in size while the same can’t be said for some competing tablets which also cost more to boot. Under the hood, the tablet runs the latest Android 12 with Samsung’s own One UI 4.1 user interface running under the hood. While the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra can run like a traditional Android tablet, it has the impressive ability to offer a desktop-style mode called DeX straight off the display. While Samsung’s flagship phones do have a DeX mode, it’s only available if paired with a monitor; the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra allows you to do it straight off its 14.6-inch display.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is both excellent and niche. It’s too big to read books on but perfect for magazines or chunky textbooks. It’s a bit clumsy to watch a movie on it hand-held, but prop it up, and it’s the best tablet for big-screened blockbusters money can buy. Touch-screen games won’t be the best unless you’ve got giant fingers but hook up a controller and you’ll lose yourself with PlayStation Remote Play, Steam Link or a 3D Android game. The tablet’s speakers are excellent, its screen is mesmerising and the fact it also ships with an S Pen means it’s an impressive note-taking tool. Add to the mix Samsung’s DeX, and the most expensive Android tablet on the scene is also the most fully featured, and the best for watching on. With the only strike against it being good, not great brightness, the Tab S8 Ultra is still a top-quality tablet that’s easy to recommend to a power-user who wants the finest slate Samsung’s released to date.

So, what do you think of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series? In our opinion, the large 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra (RM5,899) is your best bet if you want an alternative to a Windows laptop. If you're fine with a smaller screen, the Galaxy Tab S8 (RM3,299) could be a better deal. However, since all of them weigh well below 800gm and are 5.5mm to 6.3mm thin, all of them are super portable and easy to carry about. If you're interested, it's even better that Samsung is now holding a promotion till 31 March 2022. During this period, you get to enjoy freebies worth up to RM1,887* when purchasing a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series tablet! How productive or creative can you be on the move? Very productive, I would say, as someone who has been writing and editing stories on the phone for years and prefers an iPad on short trips over my MacBook. But what is the equivalent of an iPad for Android users? Well, that is not such a straight forward answer because of Google’s unconvincing stand when it comes to tablets. But if there has been one brand pushing the cause of the Android tablet, it has been Samsung. Now, Samsung has come up with its latest flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra 5G. Here is my review after using this tablet giant for well over a week.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra comes with a starting price tag of Rs 1,08,999. The flagship Android tablet from Samsung packs all the features that one would want from a high-end device. The support for S Pen and the Book cover keyboard act as an added advantage. The tablet is also a good option for those who want one single device for work and play. Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra does come with a hefty price tag but you also get a powerful processor, sleek design, bright display and good quality camera setup. If you’d like to use the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra as a tablet and for drawing etc, you’ll need to shell out Rs 1,08,999 for the Wi-Fi only variant and Rs 1,22,999 if you want 5G. The keyboard cover helps squeeze out its full potential though, and that’ll cost you another Rs 22,999. All in all, we’re talking big money here. Given its big size and big sticker price, it’s clear that the device might not appeal to everyone. The keyboard cover does app more productivity-focused use cases, but the fact is that the Tab S8 Ultra can’t really replace a laptop, given Android’s limitations as a desktop OS. The lack of a built-in kickstand and average battery life are small concerns too. That said, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is a supersized slate that offers a gorgeous display, a useful S Pen and tons of handy features, making it a powerful tool in your arsenal, especially if you’re a creative professional.

The Tab S8 Ultra is an impressive machine, but its size and price will be a barrier for some people. Being an Android fan (yes, we exist!), I was stoked to get my hands on the Tab S8 Ultra. While I appreciate its size and power, it’s made me question whether bigger is always better. After all, tablets are supposed to be relatively portable devices. The Tab S8 Ultra isn’t hard to carry around, but it’s also not as discreet as an iPad Air. While the large OLED screen makes content look amazing, that same size is also a hindrance. I also have to question Samsung’s claim that the Tab S8 Ultra can replace your laptop. While it can certainly mimic the laptop experience, proper laptops are simply more responsive and performant. Android OS isn’t as terrible as some say, but it’s not topping Windows or macOS anytime soon.

To cut a long story short, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is a seriously cool piece of kit, and it could replace a laptop if you buy the optional keyboard. For anyone who needs as much screen space as possible - like for working on or if you're a creator - this is about the best and biggest tablet there is. Despite the fact that it’s so slim and light, it’s still not going to be that easy to carry around with you because it's not that bag-friendly. If that’s something you can get over then everything about this tablet is top-tier. The screen is stunning, the front cameras are better than you’d find elsewhere and it comes with the S Pen included in the box. There’s still room for improvement because it’s not as fast as the Apple iPad Pro, and the battery life could be longer, but it’s still better than most other tablets out there. If you already own Samsung tech then choosing a tablet from the Galaxy Tab S8 series is a no-brainer because all of their devices work really well together.

This laptop is just all-around amazing. It’s got a beautiful 90Hz OLED display, AMD Ryzen 5000 power, and it all comes in a package that weighs in at under two and a half pounds. The biggest downside is the HD webcam. If you’re on a lot of video calls, you’re going to feel that. Also, that beautiful display sure uses a good amount of battery. Still, the IdeaPad Slim 7 Carbon is so easy to fall in love with. I think the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra fits into a specific niche — a single device for both tablet entertainment activities and getting real work done. I love that not only can I switch between the two seamlessly, but I can also often mix the two — I’ll have a word document opened while I have a YouTube video playing in the corner of the screen. Or I’ll be in a Zoom call while I’m actively scrolling through Instagram at the same time. With the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, I can mix work and play. And for me, it’s worth the $1,100 — particularly with the keyboard case included free of charge.

Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Review. After my first impressions of it being too big for just for tablet only use and better suited as a laptop but was I wrong? This review covers battery life, charge time, One UI 4.0 performance, Genshin Impact gaming performance with FPS meter, S-Pen, and much more!

As amazing as it is, I feel the Tab S8 Ultra is just too big and impractical as a tablet (for me). My first impression with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra as someone who has owned all other Galaxy Tab S tablets.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is a tablet that’s as big as your average laptop, and that alone is likely enough to inspire excitement in some people and confusion in others. Samsung’s line of tablets is often considered the Android ecosystem’s alternative to iPad Pros, but the Ultra sails past even the 12.9-inch iPad in terms of size, as its display is 14.6 inches across. In other words, it’s huge. How big is too big? Well, that depends on how you like to use a tablet. We imagine some people will find the Tab S8 Ultra way too big to be practical, but others might appreciate its massive amounts of display real estate. That’s why the size is listed both in the pros and cons list of this initial review. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra’s key selling point is either a positive or a negative depending on how you look at it. Beyond that it’s a super-powerful, but equally expensive, Android tablet.

It's February 9th, 2022 and as expected, today is the first of probably a few Samsung Galaxy Unpacked events. Virtual, I know.. Can't wait for us to get back to the in-person events, but the company was nice enough to give us an early preview of everything that got announced today, and well.. It's a lot. I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow, and let's just dive in.

With my limited hands-on time , I wasn’t able to check out all these features (things like Duo and the second-screen for Windows weren’t available, either). So we’ll need to get these devices in our hands for more in-depth testing to know if a Samsung-meets-Google version of Android on a 14.6-inch tablet will make a good laptop substitute. If you’re already sure you want a Tab S8, you can pre-order them today. The S8 starts at $700, the S8+ at $900 and the Ultra at $1,100, and those who pre-order will get free keyboard cases thrown in. But as always, I’d suggest waiting until we can do a full review before spending hundreds of dollars on an Android tablet.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra does something that most Android tablets fail to do: grab your attention. This thing sucks you in with its mammoth 14.6-inch display, and the optional keyboard turns the Tab S8 Ultra into one of the thinnest and lightest laptops around. Samsung deserves credit for catering to professionals who crave better video and audio quality during video calls, and we're hopeful that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip will be able to keep up with Samsung's multitasking software chops. Still, $1,099 is a lot of money for an Android tablet, and Google and Samsung have never been able to close the app quality gap with iPadOS. We look forward to fully testing the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra to see just how versatile and practical this supersized slate is.

With the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Samsung has crafted an absolutely massive, tech-filled tablet that I am sure will likely be misunderstood. With a 14.6-inch display, the Tab S8 Ultra is one of the biggest consumer tablets around. It’s bigger than the iPad Pro and it’s probably bigger than your laptop too. That makes it a very niche proposition for many. It’s also a noticeable step up on its more traditionally sized siblings, the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. For me, I think this size is what makes this slate interesting and while I don’t doubt it’ll be lamented for being ‘too big’ the fact is that I have been hankering for an iPad Pro with a screen this size for a long time. Of course, a big screen like this comes with a very big price tag. The base price here is £999 for Wi-Fi, 128GB storage and 8GB RAM. Pay £1149 and you can add 5G support. If you’re after more storage and more RAM, then you can pay £1249 (Wi-FI) and £1399 (5G) for 512GB and 16GB RAM.

If you're after a tablet with a huge screen - perhaps to consider as a laptop replacement using accessories - then they don't really come bigger than the Tab S8 Ultra. This slate is clearly designed for more than just watching stuff - the inclusion of the S Pen stylus and top-tier Qualcomm hardware confirm this - and if that's your intention then, well, we suspect this option might be simply a bit too big.

While most people will buy the Tab S8 or S8 Plus, it’s the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra that’s pushing the envelope in the same ways the original Samsung Galaxy Note did way back in 2011. Back then, its 5.3-inch screen was shameful – a true mark of a geek who opted for specs over sanity. Now, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a phone with a screen as small as 5.3 inches. So, yes – the Tab S8 Ultra is expensive, it’s unwieldy when held in one hand, and to be honest, we’re not exactly sure how we’d use it just yet. But we’re excited for what it stands for, and the fact Samsung’s loaded it up with great design, a stunning screen and stacks of power only adds to what’s already a unique proposition.

Qualcomm Adreno 730:
