My only performance complaint — the ThinkPad Z16 seemed to be a bit slow to start up from sleep. Of course, I am too — maybe if I'd scraped a bit more of the packaging into my coffee I'd wake faster. Otherwise, the ThinkPad Z16 never faltered. I never found myself grasping for additional performance from the processor, the 16GB of RAM, or the SSD. My usual machine is powered by a current-generation Intel I9 processor — the AMD Ryzen 7 Pro found here is nominally a downgrade, but I'm wondering if I could have managed to spend a bit less and would have been just as happy. I'm sure those looking for a desktop replacement to do heavy video editing will be shopping the available AMD Ryzen 9 Pro at 4.9GHz, but for most users, this will be more than enough machine. As tested, this Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 is available through CDW for $2249 — but a wide variety of configurations can move that price around a bit. I'm genuinely impressed with the value here — this can be the only device needed for a number of users, as it has the specs and performance to do nearly any task you throw at it. That it is built responsibly and sustainability doesn't affect how it performs, either — perhaps it needs to be painted green, however, to properly shout to others that you're doing your part to save the planet while you work.

The ThinkPad Z16 is a well-built, attractive, fast, and long-lasting laptop with an excellent keyboard and haptic touchpad. The biggest problem with the machine is that it’s expensive. I wish the same principles that Lenovo applied to the smaller ThinkPad Z13 could apply here. But even then, it’s in line with laptops like the Dell XPS 15 and the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme, and it costs less than more powerful laptops like the MSI Creator Z16P and the MacBook Pro 16. The ThinkPad Z16 is worth a look if you’re in the market for a larger machine.

From the great speakers and military-tested durability, to the biometric authentication and decent display, this laptop has it all (and more). However, I’m not a fan of that mushy keyboard, though I suspect that’s to ensure a quiet typing experience. I’m also not thrilled that the power button is on the edge of the laptop, but hey, you can’t always have your way, right? Overall, the ThinkPad Z16 is a top-notch business laptop that meets all of your security needs while lasting long on a charge. What’s not to love?

Lenovo: A Lenovo ("Le" de lenda em inglês, novo (latim) para novo) foi fundada em 1984 como uma empresa chinesa de comércio de computadores. Em 2004, a empresa era a maior fabricante de laptops da China e, após adquirir a divisão de PCs da IBM em 2005, a quarta maior do mundo. Além de desktops e notebooks, a empresa fabrica monitores, projetores, servidores, etc., e é especializada no desenvolvimento, fabricação e comercialização de produtos eletrônicos de consumo, computadores pessoais, software, soluções empresariais e serviços relacionados.
Em 2016, a empresa ficou em primeiro lugar no mundo em vendas de computadores. Em 2023, ela ainda ocupava essa posição, com cerca de 23% de participação no mercado global. As linhas de produtos importantes são Thinkpad, Legion e Ideapad.
