The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 is a tablet that has a lot of ambition and tries to be something for everyone. That it achieves as much as it does is a testament to its general quality. From the screen to the speakers and battery life, this is a device that is among the best in its price class. But with a janky productivity mode and the state of Android on tablets, it’s hard to justify a purchase over an iPad.

The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro (Gen 2) is a great mid range tablet alternative if you don’t want to settle for something that’s just functional, but also can’t be bothered to spend upwards of $500 on an iPad. With a gorgeous, high-resolution OLED display and an awesome speaker system alongside moderate performance (although it could be better), I walked away impressed by this affordable tablet. But Lenovo needs to show this tablet more love on the software side. It’s been nearly a year since Android 13 launched, yet the tablet is still trapped on Android 12. Alongside poor longevity, its lower price point exists for a reason. If you want something at a similar cost and are willing to trade the OLED display for better performance and battery life, we recommend the OnePlus Pad. Otherwise, the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro (Gen 2) is a winner.

I really enjoyed my time with the P11 Pro. Once you start watching movies and Twitch streams, you appreciate how good the display is. If you are serious about content consumption, the Lenovo is your tablet. I understand there are multitasking limitations, but for around $300, your expectations should match the price. I love that we live in a time when my inner child can indulge in an impressive spec list on the Tab P11 Pro at a cost my responsible adult wallet can actually afford. For a long time, there wasn’t a lot of quality competition at this price point in tablets. I’m glad I can finally buy a tablet with premium features for around $300.

As I mentioned above, if you're going to buy the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2, the 6GB version will be the safer bet. You'll only save $30 with the 4GB version, and less memory means fewer apps will take full advantage of the 120Hz display. If you can't afford this price, you'd be better served choosing the P11 Plus or waiting for the $250 Tab P11 (2nd Gen) coming in January 2023. Otherwise, the $30 extra will pay its dividends if you use this tablet for three years. With that out of the way, should you buy the P11 Pro Gen 2? It depends on whether you're someone that wants to experience a 120Hz display without paying a flagship-level price. More and more mid-range phones are doing it, and I suspect more mid-range tablets will follow suit. But at the moment, the Pro doesn't have many proper rivals. Even if the stock software isn't anything to write home about, everything about the hardware makes this tablet very easy to recommend.

In its class of stylish and functional tablets, Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 can easily take its rightful place among competitors. It has something to stand out - a great screen, excellent battery life, stylish and practical design. Plus, the use of a stylus for handwriting may be the very little thing that finally tips the scales in favor of buying this particular gadget.

The device, however, makes quite a few concessions over its predecessors, which leaves it feeling notably worse. The lack of fingerprint scanner, in particular, is inexcusable in this price range. And the price is by far the biggest offender; while the starting price is $300, that's for the model with 128GB storage and a measly 4GB of memory. Get the properly specced 8GB variant with 256GB storage and you are looking at close to $500, with the keyboard accessory adding even more. At that point, you may as well just get an iPad, especially if your objective is to have some sort of a laptop experience without actually getting a laptop. iPadOS is far better suited to that task and the quality of third-party applications is in a different league altogether. Meanwhile, on Android, the OS itself feels like it was jerry rigged to run on tablets and the third-party app situation is abysmal. If the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 was an all-round outstanding tablet then maybe there would be some case for it, but it isn't so we would recommend considering the base iPad instead. The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 makes sense only if your objective is purely media consumption.

One can argue that the 10th Gen iPad is more powerful and superior than any of the Android tablets budget, especially for the price. But the Lenovo P11 Pro Gen 2, unlike the 10th Gen iPad, runs on Android OS, which offers more freedom to the user. Just like an iPad, one can also pair it with an external monitor to get a PC-like user experience. For Rs 45,000, it is more expensive than the Xiaomi Pad 5 and offers features like an OLED display, stock Android UI, and good performance. If you want a decent mid-range tablet with all the aforementioned features, the Lenovo P11 Pro Gen 2 is a great pick and is definitely one of the best mid-tier Android tablets of 2022.

The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 is a solid Android tablet that is going to struggle to compete with the iPad 10.2 and 10.9. It sits between these two in price and isn’t as powerful or as expensive-feeling as either. It also lacks the core appeal of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, which offers one of the cheapest ways to get a quality digital art tablet. Mid-tier tablets like this really struggle to get out of the iPads’ long shadows, and the plasticky feel of the outer shell doesn’t help. However, there’s plenty of good stuff to appreciate here, like the strong speaker array, good light-use battery life and punchy OLED display — at least when not playing HDR video, as that is bugged out at launch.

If you're going to build a tablet, the number one thing you need to nail relative to the price is the display. You can have the cheapest tablet in the world, but if the display is trash, it'll rarely be worth it. At a mid-range price like this, prioritizing the display can get you far, and that's what Lenovo has done here. Lenovo has made a rather enticing option here thanks to a 120Hz 11.5-inch QHD+ display that gets pretty bright and supports HDR. You can use a tablet for media consumption, browsing the web, and even for productivity, and with the display being as good as it is, that makes all of it a joy. Sure, AMOLED isn't a necessity (nor are high refresh rate displays), but they're almost certainly going to be high up on my list of priorities if I'm picking up a tablet and I'm looking to spend a bit more than something like the Honor Pad 8. However, if all you're going to be doing is consuming media, then downgrading a small bit might be a way to save some money. You don't need to spend a lot of money to have a decent Android tablet experience, though if you want a good screen, this is probably the device to go for on a budget. Keep in mind you are paying for a lot of higher-end hardware in the form of the mid-range MediaTek Kompanio 1300T chipset to power that display, and if all you're doing is watching videos, it'll be a waste.

Lenovo is proving an expert at mid-range Android tablets that outperform the cheaper models but cost hundreds less than the popular premium tablets. Its 2.5K 120Hz display makes gaming and streaming shows a blast, as do the quad speakers and large battery. It'll become an even better option once it gets the update to Android 13.

Lenovo did a fantastic job with this tablet. Everything from the design to the software just screams quality, and it performs exceptionally well. You will have no issues with this tablet as your work device, especially if you like to draw or sign documents. The screen is really nice, but the speakers could definitely use some work. Also, you should have no issues using this as your main gaming device.

The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 is not a bad tablet by any means. In fact, it’s pretty decent for the midrange price point. It’s just a bit limited due to the current inclusion of Android 12 — Android 12L optimization will not arrive until sometime in 2023. My usage was also slightly hindered since I did not have the accompanying keyboard case, so I could not try doing a full day of work on it, which is what I would normally use a tablet for. It is quite good for a media consumption device thanks to the sharp 11.2-inch 2.5K OLED display with Dolby Vision and HDR10+. And with a quad-speaker system with Dolby Atmos spatial audio, you can get immersed in whatever it is you’re watching. Even at max volume, there’s no distortion, which is nice for a tablet in this space. For the price, the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 is a good travel companion or entertainment consumption device. The extra accessories will complete the experience, but they are sold separately and will add to the overall cost. The hardware is nice and feels mostly premium (sans the front camera), and it’s just the software that is holding the tablet back from being great. In the end, though, I think there are some better options out there, especially when you look at the Apple iPad lineup. That’s been the case for a lot of cheaper Android tablets for a while, and the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 doesn’t really do anything to change it.

At $399.99, the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 is priced well for what you get. It offers enough performance to outclass budget models, but it's a lot less than you'll pay for a high-end offering like the $699.99 Samsung Galaxy Tab S8. Even with the optional keyboard and stylus, you're still looking at a total investment of around $570, which is a decent deal compared with a similarly equipped Galaxy Tab or iPad. So considering its vibrant screen, solid speed, and attractive design, the Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 should be at or near the top of your list if you're in the market for an Android tablet. If you aren't committed to Android, however, the base model iPad remains our top pick overall.

If you're looking for a quick, seamless, reliable tablet that doesn't break the bank, then the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro might be the one for you. That's as long as you're happy getting comfortable with the Android operating system since it might be a little frustrating at the start. Since the only thing holding back this device is the operating system, you'll soon forget about these annoyances once you stare into its rich, beautiful screen and flawless operations. It's easy to work from but make sure you get the additional keyboard to do so since it will help you type faster. Although it won't be able to fully replace your laptop, the device is sure to be a loyal, dedicated, travelling companion. This device is a steal, especially when you compare it to the price tag of other higher-end models like the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Pro for Business (£1,316 exc VAT) or Apple iPad Pro 12.9in (£1,107 exc VAT). If you need something cheaper that will work extremely well, then make sure you consider the Tab P11 Pro (2nd Gen).

If you’re looking for an Android tablet only to consume content, then there are cheaper alternatives that do provide a somewhat similar visual and aural experience. However, if productivity and gaming are important considerations, then this ‘THE’ tablet that you should be looking at. Under Rs 50,000, there are very few options that hold a candle to the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro (2nd Gen). I seriously wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tablet to anyone, especially if they are looking for something compact and don’t want to carry a full-sized laptop around with them. The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro (2nd Gen) is what Chromebooks should have been all along, and what we hope the upcoming Pixel Tablet will be, at least in spirit.

Although it’s a bit bulky with all the optional extras attached, we really like the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2. It’s a subtle iteration on an already-solid product, a refinement that doesn’t seek to reinvent the wheel, but adds some new hubcaps and those cool James Bond things that shred the tires of rival cars. Performance will be crucial here, as well as battery life. The original had an excellent battery, so if Lenovo can beat - or at least match - that, then we’ll be recommending this tablet for years to come. The only big missteps for use are the loss of LTE and the still-weak cameras, but if those aren’t problems for you, then you’ve just found your new favourite tablet.
