To conclude, the Moto Z2 Force is certainly an interesting device. The phone with an indestructible screen and the performance is top notch, and fills a definite gap in the market. The persistent overheating problem could bother some, but overall, if you are looking for a OnePlus 5T alternative that will also be a party trick with repeated drops, then this can be considered as an option.

Amidst phones that are basically just a photocopy of each other, the Moto Z2 is uniquely different. It is perhaps the most durable phone among all flagships and can outlast them for years. Furthermore, the ability to augment its features through Moto Mods makes the phone an ecosystem of its own. However, you might find the phone lacking in the features that is all the rage right now, a bezel-less design, 18:9 display. What's irksome is that the phone performs just as well as its competition but will lose out simply because the new crop of flagships powered by more powerful chipsets are right around the corner.

At the time of writing, the Moto Z2 Force is available for Rs. 34,998 on Flipkart, which is quite an aggressive price, especially considering that the TurboPower mod alone costs Rs. 5,999 when bought separately. On paper, it has quite a few advantages over its arch-rival OnePlus 5T. There is shatterproof display, Modular accessory support, and a 2K display.

Priced at Rs 34,999, the Moto Z2 Force is a good overall package especially with Power pack mod included with the purchase. The phone packs an impressive Quad HD shatterproof display, superior performance, stock Android and good cameras along with excellent battery life. The lack of 18:9 display in 2018 is probably the only major con you can think of on this device.

Moto Z2 Force is another excellent alternative for someone who’s looking for a phone with premium design that does not compromise on specifications and features. Top-notch performance and premium design are its strength. And the free battery Mod makes the device more compelling.

Moto Z2 Force is an excellent phone featuring an AMOLED screen, top performance and respectable camera quality. There’s a ShatterShield display, Moto Mods support, and snappy OS. With all this I’m convinced that at Rs 34,999, Moto Z2 Force and TurboPower Mod makes a lot of sense. Sure the design could have been altered , but at the end you are getting the Moto Z2 Force for less than half the price of the Galaxy S8+ or iPhone 8 Plus. That’s not to say that it doesn’t face any competition. If what you want is a premium Android smartphone that looks great and features the top-of-the-line specifications, one can also consider the OnePlus 5T. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is another option.

The Moto Z2 Force is one of the compelling devices from Motorola’s outing at a competitive price of Rs. 34,999. On the whole, the Moto Z2 Force is a blend of slim body, powerful internals, shatterproof display and also comes bundled with a battery pack power Mod. However, lack of 3.5mm audio jack, average battery backup without mod and lack of OIS in camera are some of the downsides, which might make it hard to sell in the market where there is a tough competition in the price segment.

On its own, the TurboPower Mod is priced at Rs. 5,999, and would suffer from exactly the same problems as the rest of the Mods since you could buy a power bank with thrice the capacity for well under Rs. 1,000. However, the combined cost of Rs. 34,999 for the Moto Z2 Force plus this Mod makes for a compelling package deal that seriously one-ups the OnePlus 5T (Review). Many people have been saying for years that they'd choose a thicker phone if they could have multi-day battery life, and now, in a sense, you can get the best of both worlds.

Moto Z2 Force has a lot going for it — clean Android experience, value-adding Moto software features, shatterproof display, sleek form factor and the bundled TurboPower Pack mod ensures that battery woes are kept at bay. Unlike other flagship phones out there, with the shatterproof display on the Moto Z2 Force you will never need to bother about the display cracking any time soon. For Moto fans who are still on a couple of generations old Moto X devices, this is a great upgrade path.

The Moto Z2 Force is a modular smartphone if you look on the back there are points to attach mods. There are several mods available like the gaming mod, JBL speaker mod, projector mod, camera mod etc. With the Z2 Force the company is giving the TurboPower mod that not only charges the phone but you can also use it like a power bank that connect to the phone. Though it does make the phone heavy and bulky.

With an overall DxOMark score of 82 points, the Motorola Moto Z2 Force cannot quite keep up with the best-in-class from Apple, Samsung, Google, and Huawei, but it is capable of producing decent results with good detail and exposure in most situations, and also offers a usable bokeh mode. The camera doesn’t really have any glaring weaknesses, but dynamic range is a little more limited than we would like, and color casts are often noticeable. Zoom performance is arguably the Moto’s most obvious downside in still image mode, but as part of Motorola’s modular Z-range of smartphones, the Z2 Force allows you to attach a range of so-called “Moto Mods.” Among these mods is the Hasselblad TrueZoom module, which offers a 10x optical zoom, converting the Moto Z2 Force into a mobile imaging device for all occasions.

There are a few points to bear in mind when considering the Z2 Force. Firstly, the lack of a headphone jack is a pain - although there is an adapter in the box. Secondly, the fact it's not fully waterproof is a bit of an issue in my eyes. And lastly, the battery can take a pounding if you're not careful.

Having a shatterproof screen provides peace of mind, but the real reason to get the Moto Z2 Force is for the extra expandability of the Moto Mods. Is this flagship worth $750, which is what you’d pay for a Galaxy S8? If you like the idea of transforming your phone and adding capabilities to it on the fly, I’d say yes. But the Z2 Force isn’t a slam dunk, because the dual cameras didn’t work as well as I hoped and the design (while strikingly slim) doesn’t match the sex appeal of today’s bezel-free phones.

In many ways the Moto Z2 Force Edition matches the Galaxy S8 feature for feature while adding support for truly useful add-on accessories. If you’re sold on the Moto Mod idea, the Z2 Force Edition is the most powerful phone with which you can use them. But the price of Moto Mods can add up quickly. If you simply want the best device you can get out of the box, the Samsung Galaxy S8 offers a slightly more polished experience all around. And if you want to save some money, the OnePlus 5 gets you the same powerful hardware and a dual-sensor camera with optical zoom for nearly half the price.

If you’re in the market for a new phone, or you’re on a carrier that’s new to the Moto Z line, I’d still recommend the Moto Z2 Force. The fantastic design, clean software, and stellar performance paired with some really cool Moto Mods make this a platform worth investing in. But if you’re still rocking an original Moto Z or Moto Z Force? Hang on to it. Those are still some great phones, and it feels like Lenovo would rather you buy Moto Mods instead of a new phone, anyway.

Overall, if you like the aesthetics and design, the Moto Z2 Force is a nice phone. It has the hardware specs, performance and price of a flagship, but simply lacks the refined feel of some other devices due to the materials used in the shatterproof screen and physical accommodations for Moto Mods. At $720, its priced higher than the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ or LG G6, however, which is tough to justify. The availability of Moto Mods, good battery life, shatterproof screen, and strong performance somewhat justify a price premium, but not necessarily enough to overshadow other flagship devices, unless some of the available Moto Mods are particularly appealing to your specific use case.

The dream of a modular smartphone, one that you can add and remove parts from, is all but dead. Just look at Google’s Project Ara. But Motorola isn’t giving up. Instead, the company is doubling down on the concept by offering even more of its Moto Mods for the Moto Z2 Force than it did for the original Moto Z Force.

The Moto Z2 Force is a good, solid phone. One with a set of compromises, just like any other phone out there. The problem is that the specific compromises we're talking about here are bigger and in much more noticeable places than the competition. At the same time, Motorola has become one of its own toughest competitors by selling the Moto Z2 Play for nearly $300 less with almost the exact same experience — and in some notable areas like battery life, a better one. Even though the Moto Z2 Force is good, it just isn't nearly good enough.

The Moto Z2 Force is back with its guaranteed shatter-resistant glass screen and even more MotoMods, including a 360-degree camera. But this time it's much thinner, and that means it's back to barely all-day battery life. You're going to pay a price to upgrade to this Android phone, but it's the only modular handset doing it mostly right.

The Moto Z2 Force is one of the more compelling devices of 2017. But we can't help but think it should have been priced more competitively. After all, the phone doesn't come with any earbuds but a 3.5mm to USB-C adapter is tossed in. Additionally, if you're looking at getting Moto Mods, the price will quickly rack up with every one you add to the mix. If you can get in on one of the ongoing carrier deals for the Moto Z2 Force, it'd be a much easier pill to swallow.

The Moto Z2 Force can be a really fantastic smartphone, but it's going to take a little work. Absolutely buy a screen protector. And you're not going to be getting anything close to your money's worth if you don't pick up a couple Moto Mods. But for the user who's willing to do a bit of legwork, and also has faith that Motorola can smooth over a few of the software's rough patches through future updates, the Moto Z2 Force can easily be a powerful, versatile handset.

Then there’s the fact that the best mods cost $80 and up. For that reason, I’d recommend the cheaper Moto Z2 Play over this phone if you can live without the latest Snapdragon 835 processor and a screen that won’t crack. At $408 for the Z2 Play, you’ll have plenty of dough left to pick up a few more Mods. Nevertheless, the Z2 Force is a viable flagship contender for those looking for a combination of versatility and extreme durability.

If you really want to win me over, Motorola, since you are stuck with this design, you’ve got to give it all. Give me a Z phone with everything here, including the Moto Mods, but I also need IP68, a headphone jack, thinner bezels, and dual front-facing speakers. I’m sure you can manage that while not ditching your Moto Mod strategy. It may be necessary, too, or you run the risk of falling into obscurity yet again.

None of these things overcome the fact that the Moto Z2 Force doesn't feel competitive against products like the Galaxy S8 or HTC U11. At a minimum of $720 it's a hard sell, even with a free $299 Insta-Share Projector mod. And while the phone is, for the first time in recent memory, available all four major U.S. carriers, I wish Motorola had a better representative to showcase its resurgence in mainstream culture.

While Lenovo's new Moto Z2 Force has a couple of shortcomings, I really do love the device. The biggest drawback is that the screen is so easily scratched. I'm not one to use a screen protector on my devices, so this might be a deal-breaker. For the average user though that's going to keep this phone for about two years, you should definitely get one.

Overall, it seems like Motorola might have actually pulled off a good modular phone — something that’s been tried and failed before. The keys here are simple: it’s a fantastic phone to use without investing in any of the mods, so it’s not a niche phone for a very particular kind of person; it’s launching on all the major carriers, instead of being an exclusive; and the variety of mods available means that it might be more than a novelty.

Not only is Samsung’s Galaxy S8 probably the best of the Android options on the market today, it’s seen aggressive discounts over the past months. That its primary Android competition will be Samsung’s own Note 8, due to be revealed later this month, speaks volumes. That’s before you get to the hotly-anticipated iPhone 8. Motorola scores kudos from me for doubling-down on Moto Mods, but altogether this is an expensive way to get the features that arguably should’ve come on the Moto Z2 Force as standard.

The best way to think of the new Moto Z2 Force is as a mashup of the two flagships that came before it. It's very nearly as sleek as the first Moto Z, and packs a refreshed version of the ShatterShield display that made the original Z Force so durable. It's remarkably powerful too, though we could say that about any flagship released this year. Alas, the Z2 Force is let down somewhat by its unremarkable battery life and its lackluster dual camera. Ultimately, this phone is the way to go if you haven't given up on your modular gadget dreams, but others might be better served by a more fully fleshed out package.
