Intel Pentium Silver N5030
O Intel Pentium Silver N5030 é um SoC quad-core principalmente para portáteis baratos e foi anunciado no final de 2019. Funciona a 1,1-3,1 GHz (Single Core Burst) e é baseado na plataforma Gemini Lake. O 5030 é a actualização do antigo Pentium 5000 e oferece um relógio Boost 400 MHz mais alto. Similar ao predecessor do Apollo Lake, o chip é fabricado num processo de 14 nm com FinFETs mas oferece núcleos de processador ligeiramente melhorados, o dobro da quantidade de cache L2, um pacote mais pequeno, uma nova geração de saídas de monitor (Gen 10) e um chip WiFi parcialmente integrado. Além de quatro núcleos de CPU, o chip inclui também uma GPU DirectX 12 capaz, bem como um controlador de memória DDR4/LPDDR4 (duplo canal, até 2400 MHz). O SoC não é substituível, uma vez que é directamente soldado à placa principal.
A arquitectura do processador é ainda chamada Goldmont Plus. Em comparação com os núcleos mais antigos do Goldmont no Lago Apollo, apresentam uma cache de nível 2 aumentada (para 4 MB). Isto significa que o desempenho por relógio deveria ser um pouco melhor, mas não perto das CPUs de núcleo como Kaby Lake Y.
O desempenho do CPU do Pentium Silver N5030 é graças ao relógio de impulso 400 MHz mais alto claramente mais rápido do que o antigo Silver N5000. Em comparação com os processadores Core Y mais caros, especialmente o desempenho de um único fio é muito mais baixo nos SoCs baseados no Lago Gemini. Ainda para tarefas básicas como fatos de escritório, a navegação na web com multitarefas moderadas o desempenho do processador deve ser bom.
O UHD Graphics 605 (Gemini Lake) é baseado na arquitectura Gen9 da Intel, que suporta DirectX 12 e é também utilizado para os adaptadores gráficos Kaby Lake / Skylake / Apollo Lake (como o HD Graphics 520). Equipado com 18 UE e um relógio de até 750 MHz, o desempenho deve ser aproximadamente ao mesmo nível dos antigos HD Graphics 5300 e HD Graphics 505 (Apollo Lake).
O chip inclui também um motor de vídeo avançado com suporte de hardware para a reprodução de material VP9 e H.265 (8-bit color-depth).
Semelhante ao predecessor, a Intel especifica o TDP com 6 Watts (SDP 4.8 Watts - Scenario Design Power). O chip pode portanto ser arrefecido passivamente em teoria, mas também são possíveis SKUs com ventoinhas.
