Intel i9-10980XE

O Intel Core i9-10980XE é um processador topo de gama para desktops / estações de trabalho baseado na série Cascade Lake-X. Integra 18 núcleos de processadores que relojam entre 3 e 4,6 GHz (Turbo Boost 3.0). Em comparação com o i9-9980XE, o 10980XE aumentou a velocidade do relógio Turbo em 200 MHz e oferece instruções adicionais AVX-512 para pequenos tipos de dados (8 Bit e 16 Bit inteiros). A arquitectura básica é ainda semelhante à Skylake. Graças ao HyperThreading, o CPU pode lidar com até 36 fios de uma só vez. Os núcleos individuais são ligados por uma malha em vez do barramento de anéis nas CPUs de consumo.

O desempenho em aplicações multi-threaded do CPU de 18 núcleos é excelente, contudo em jogos e cargas de trabalho com menos roscas, CPUs de consumo de relógio rápido como o Core i9-9900K são mais rápidas.

O CPU é especificado com um TDP de 165 Watt e, portanto, necessita de um sistema de refrigeração grande e capaz.
