Intel Core i7-2637M

O Intel Core i7-2637M é um processador ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) energeticamente eficiente para portáteis finos e leves. A freqüência base de 1,7 GHz é relativamente baixa, mas graças ao Turbo Boost 2.0, o CPU pode atingir até 2,8 GHz (um núcleo carregado, 2,5 GHz com ambos os núcleos carregados). Porém, isto depende do esfriamento e consumo de energia do portátil. Graças ao HyperThreading, o i7-2637M é capaz de agüentar 4 threads em paralelo. Comparado com o mais lento i7-2617M, o 2637M oferece uma freqüência mais alta (núcleo de processamento e turbo, turbo de gráficos).

A Sandy Bridge é a sucessora evolucionária da arquitetura Arrandale. As melhorias mais notáveis são o Turbo 2.0 melhorado e a integração da placa de vídeo no núcleo do CPU de 32nm.

A Intel HD Graphics 3000  integrada com freqüência de 350 ou 1.200MHz (Turbo Boost). Devido à freqüência base mais baixa sem o Turbo, comparada com a HD Graphics 3000 em processadores de 35W e 45W (normalmente com freqüência de 650 em processadores não LV), o desempenho deve ser evidentemente mais baixo.

O desempenho do CPU deve ser um pouco mais alto que o de um Arrandale Core i5 com freqüência similar. Graças às altas freqüências do Turbo Boost, o desempenho deve ser similar ao do Core i3-2310M. No entanto, o sistema de esfriamento do portátil tem que manter o processador relativamente frio para que o Turbo Boost funcione freqüentemente.

O TDP de 17W (inclui o GPU  integrado e controlador de memória) permite o uso do CPU 2637M em sub-portáteis pequenos.
