Intel T9800

O Intel Core 2 Duo T9800 foi o CPU dual core top para portáteis no momento do lançamento. Depois foi ultrapassado pelo Core 2 Duo T9900 / X9100. Mesmo assim o T9800 é um CPU de alta capacidade para portáteis que é bem adequado para aplicativos single e dual threaded.

Devido à alta freqüência, o T9800 oferece o desempenho suficiente para jogos (em 2009) e aplicativos exigentes. Em média, somente dual cores mais velozes (como o T9900 ou o veloz Core i7) ou quad cores Core i7 podem ser mais velozes que o T9800.

O T9800 usa um núcleo Penryn (Atualização Montevina) que apresenta 2 unidades inteiras, 1 unidade de ponto flutuante, 1 unidade de carga, e 1 unidade de armazenamento em um longo pipeline de 14-fases. Graças à Tecnologia de Execução Dinâmica Ampla, o núcleo é capaz de executar até quatro instruções simultaneamente.

O Enhanced Speedstep integrado é capaz de diminuir a freqüência do núcleo dinamicamente até 800 MHz para economizar energia (em modo inativo).

O Core 2 Duo T9800 pode ser usado em uma tomada Socket P com 479 pinos: A tomada Socket P / Micro Flip-Chip Pin Grid Array (Micro-FCPGA) requer de uma superfície de montagem de 479-pinos, tomada Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) (mPGA479M socket) ou Micro Flip-Chip Ball Grid Array (Micro-FCBGA) para superfície de montagem (479-bola).
