Intel Celeron N4000

O Intel Pentium N4000 é um SoC dual-core feito principalmente para portáteis econômicos e foi anunciado no final de 2017. Ele funciona com 1,1-2,6 GHz (Single Core Burst, Multi Core Burst no máximo de 2,5 GHz) e é baseado na plataforma Gemini Lake. Semelhante ao predecessor da Apollo Lake, o chip é fabricado em um processo de 14 nm com FinFETs, mas oferece núcleos de processador ligeiramente melhorados, o dobro da quantidade de cache L2, um pacote menor, uma nova geração de saídas de monitor (Gen 10) e um Chip WiFi parcialmente integrado. Além de quatro núcleos de CPU, o chip também inclui uma GPU com suporte para DirectX 12, bem como um controlador de memória DDR4/LPDDR4 (dual-channel, até 2400 MHz). O SoC não é substituível, pois é diretamente soldado à placa-mãe.

Arquitetura

A arquitetura do processador foi ligeiramente reformulada e agora é chamada de Goldmont Plus. Possui um cache de nível 2 aumentado (para 4 MB). Isso significa que o desempenho por velocidade deve ser um pouco melhor, mas não perto dos processadores Core como Kaby Lake Y.

Desempenho

O desempenho da CPU Celeron N4000 é graças à arquitetura de CPU ligeiramente revisada e à velocidade aumentada de 200 MHz um pouco melhor que o antigo Celeron N3350 (2 núcleos 1,1 - 2 GHz, Apollo Lake). Em comparação com os processadores Core Y, mais caros, especialmente o desempenho single thread é muito menor nos SoCs baseados em Gemini Lake. Ainda para tarefas básicas como suíte de escritório, navegação com multitarefa leve, o desempenho do processador deve ser bom.

Desempenho da GPU

A UHD Graphics 600 (Gemini Lake) baseia-se na arquitetura Gen9 da Intel, que suporta DirectX 12 e que também é utilizada para os adaptadores gráficos Kaby Lake / Skylake / Apollo Lake (como a HD Graphics 520). Equipada com 12 EUs e uma velocidade de até 650 MHz, o desempenho deve estar quase no mesmo nível do antiga HD Graphics 500 (Apollo Lake).

O chip também inclui um motor de vídeo avançado com suporte para hardware para a reprodução de material VP9 e H.265 (profundidade de cores de 8-bits).

Consumo de Energia

Similar ao predecessor, a Intel especifica o TDP com 6 Watts (SDP 4,8 Watts – Scenario Design Power). O chip pode, portanto, ser resfriado passivamente, em teoria, mas também é possível em SKUs com ventoinhas.
