Casio's unique full-metal ring-shaped digital watch 'CRW-001-1JR' is now official

Casio is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a twist—enter the CRW-001-1JR, a ring-shaped digital watch for those who want their timekeeping to stand out, quite literally, on their finger. The item was previously leaked in September, and now, we have more news regarding the same. The ring-shaped watch is a homage to the hugely popular Casio GMW-B5000 wristwatch.

Set to launch in December 2024 at a price of ¥19,800 (~$127), the CRW-001-1JR is crafted from stainless steel using advanced Metal Injection Molding (MIM) technology for a durable and precise build. Its compact dimensions—just 25.2 x 19.5 x 6.2 mm—make it approximately 1/10th the size of a standard wristwatch. Despite its size, the ring watch comes with useful features like dual time, an auto-calendar, a stopwatch, and a light chime, all displayed on a crisp LED-backlit screen.

The CRW-001-1JR is waterproof for daily use and boasts a battery life of approximately two years. Casio includes multiple ring size options with adjustment spacers for a perfect fit, catering to finger sizes 16, 19, and 22. For a touch of elegance, the watch is presented in a sleek packaging box, which also contains a drawstring pouch.

Casio’s gamble on an unconventional form factor is already paying off, with pre-orders expected to sell out as soon as they open early next month – December 1 if the Great G-Shock world report is to be believed. The limited availability on the Casio website means fans will need to act fast.
