Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Com o workstation WT72-6QME, a MSI fornece uma atualização sólida para um produto que já era bom. Embora o desempenho da CPU Xeon E3-1505M não é inovador, oferece suporte para RAM ECC, que por sua vez aumenta a confiabilidade. Por falar em confiabilidade: embora um array RAID 0 posa fazer muito sentido para um portátil de jogos, ainda temos a dúvida de se não seria melhor incluir tolerância para falhas em um sistema onde a estabilidade e confiabilidade são peças chave. Originalmente projetado para jogos, o chassi tem uma solução de resfriamento bem projetada e inclusive é possível usar o aparelho o dia todo com uso intenso, sem afogamentos. No entanto, ativar o recurso "Cooler Boost" poderia incomodar os colegas de trabalho, dado que o nível de ruído é bastante substancial. A tela - usada em muitos sistemas de jogos de 17-polegadas - também é bom, embora desejaríamos uma melhor cobertura dos espaços de cor profissionais.

O workstation WT72 atualizado da MSI é mais uma vez uma opção sólida neste segmento - embora a configuração topo de linha pareça quase proibitivamente cara para um portátil de jogos modificado.
