Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

O HP ZBook 14u G5 é um workstation móvel de 14 polegadas que cumpre o critério de ser um workstation graças à sua veloz CPU e sua GPU profissional padrão. O pacote é completado com muitos recursos de segurança e um SSD NVMe veloz. No geral, a HP criou um workstation móvel relativamente acessível a €1.680 (~$1.937) que levanta a questão de se vale a penas gastar mais por um workstation de gama superior. 

No entanto, há algumas desvantagens, isto é, a tela. O brilho máximo de215 cd/m² é inaceitável nesta faixa de preços, assim como a pobre cobertura do espaço de cores. Até mesmo os dispositivos dr escritório econômicos contam com telas melhores que a do ZBook 14u G5. Enquanto na prática o dispositivo possa ser conectado a uma estação docking e a monitores externos, esperávamos uma melhor tela padrão para um workstation móvel. Não entendemos a falta de um leitor de cartões.

O desempenho do sistema de resfriamento, CPU e GPU deixa muito a desejar. O sistema de resfriamento atinge seu limite sob uso intenso, enquanto a CPU se desempenha pior que o processador equivalente em dispositivos comparáveis. Pior ainda, a GPU normalmente fica atrás da antiga GPU AMD FirePro W4190M. Isto significa que o ZBook 14u G5 é superado pelo seu predecessor em algumas aplicações profissionais.

O HP ZBook 14u G5 é mais fino que o seu predecessor que possui um chassi de alta qualidade. A HP criou um impressionante workstation móvel que garante a atenção de potenciais compradores.

Positivamente, a HP oferece uma variedade de opções de configuração. Infelizmente, não há alternativas para a AMD Radeon Pro WX 3100. No geral, o desempenho do sistema é decente, enquanto a duração da bateria é um bônus. Além disso, o futuro da porta Thunderbolt USB Type-C garante o dispositivo até certo grau.
