Contra
O Precision 3520 definitivamente tem seus pontos positivos. Primeiro, está a tela, que é vívida e brilhante e agradável para trabalhar. A duração da bateria também é muito boa para um workstation e deve ser excelente com uma opção de bateria maior de 92 Wh. O número de portas físicas é suficiente. O chassi e os dispositivos de entrada são suficientemente bons para uma máquina empresarial, mas também não tão perfeitos.
Infelizmente, o Precision vacila quando se trata dos critérios mais importantes para estações de trabalho: desempenho e nível de ruído. A restrição para um TDP de 35 W pode já levantar algumas sobrancelhas - a Dell provavelmente teria que investir em um sistema de resfriamento mais sofisticado, o que, claro, não é tão realista, dado que este é um workstation econômico. Temos que perguntar se uma CPU nominalmente mais fraca não seria a melhor opção. Nosso teste de estresse revelou que o desempenho pode flutuar enormemente sob carga, provavelmente porque o firmware poderia ser melhorado. Infelizmente, isso também é verdade para o controle da ventoinha, porque a ventoinha gira frequentemente gira mesmo quando não há carga de trabalho. Após os benchmarks, demora um longo tempo para que a ventoinha pare de girar. Além disso, o 3520 sofre com o ruído de bobina.
O Precision 3520 é um workstation sólido - mas poderia ser ainda melhor.
Em resumo, podemos dizer que o Precision 3520 definitivamente tem potencial. O notebook é bastante poderoso e apresenta uma relação preço-desempenho comparativamente boa. Depois de tudo: os workstations podem ser bastante caros. No entanto, a Dell precisa voltar para a mesa do design e melhorar o controle da ventoinha e otimizar o desempenho.
