Com o Galaxy A8 (2018), a Samsung criou um smartphone de gama média bem equipado que oferece muito. O design parece e se sente premium é conta com certificação IP68. A tela Super AMOLED Infinity é visualmente impressionante, sendo bem ajustada e brilhante, enquanto também conta com uma alta resolução. A variante Dual-SIM é realmente Dual-SIM, contando com um slot dedicado para a expansão para cartões microSD, em vez de ter que escolher entre um segundo SIM ou um cartão microSD. Os fanáticos das selfies recebem uma câmera frontal dupla com bons óticos que deixa espaço para gimmicks enquanto ainda tira boas fotos, este último também se aplica para a câmera traseira de 16 MP.
Bom desempenho, porém, a um preço questionável. O Galaxy A8 (2018) cria concorrência desnecessária para si mesma, com o Galaxy S8 de gama alta mais veloz e melhor equipado, custando apenas cerca de €100 (~$123) a mais.
