Os smartphones Android da faixa de $200 a $250 USD são bastante comuns de fabricantes chineses como Leagoo, Xiaomi, Bluboo, Oppo e Vivo. O que torna o Honor 7X tão especial em comparação com o dilúvio de outras alternativas baratas é o forte empurrão de marketing mundial da Huawei. Ao contrário da maioria dos outros smartphones das marcas acima mencionadas, o Honor 7X é realmente compatível com redes 4G LTE nos EUA, está mais amplamente disponível sem necessidade de importação e tem o apoio financeiro do maior fabricante chinês de smartphones. Juntas, essas vantagens criam um maior nível de controle de qualidade que os donos fora da Ásia geralmente não recebem de marcas chinesas menos conhecidas. O Huawei é muito menos que uma aposta pelo pequeno investimento.
Há um valor tremendo no Honor 7X. O preço de compra baixo oferece aos usuários uma tela FHD de 5,93 polegadas com o mesmo formato de 18:9 encontrada nos últimos carros-chefe que custam quase 5 vezes mais. O leitor de digitais, os slots SIM duplos de 4G, o armazenamento expansível e o conector de áudio de 3,5 mm são recursos que, mesmo algumas alternativas mais caras, não possuem. O formato muito fino é outra surpresa, pois se parece ao caro Mate 10 Pro até as dimensões e colocação dos botões e portas. O resultado final é um smartphone que se sente mais caro do que o preço de varejo.
Alguns cantos tiveram que ser cortados, embora eles, felizmente, parecem limitados a recursos estranhos em vez de qualidade de hardware. Os proprietários não terão NFC, IR, 802.11ac, chamadas Wi-Fi, carregamento sem fio e USB Type-C enquanto alguns recursos EMUI específicos são omitidos, incluindo Hotspot e Dock de Navegação. Nessa perspectiva, a experiência dos barebones não é inesperada e provavelmente não irá dissuadir o público-alvo consciente do orçamento.
Mais decepcionantes são os tempos de resposta mais lentos da tela, a falta de carga rápida e os benefícios mínimos de desempenho bruto do Kirin 659 sobre o Kirin 655 no Honor 6X. O Ghosting é mais prevalente ao navegar e o tempo de carga de mais de 2 horas pode ser uma dor de cabeça para usuários pesados. O Honor 7X não se sente necessariamente mais lento ou mais rápido do que o seu antecessor imediato, para melhor ou pior. As câmeras de alta qualidade, um fone de ouvido mais potente e uma luz de fundo potencialmente mais brilhante completam nossa lista do que gostaríamos de ver no eventual sucessor.
O Honor 7X está sendo referido por muitos na imprensa como o melhor smartphone Android que pode se comprar com $200 e não podemos discordar. Os usuários norte-americanos, em particular, terão dificuldade para encontrar um smartphone Android tão barato com um conjunto de recursos equivalente, sem recorrer a importações. Esperamos que as futuras iterações abordem o perceptível ghosting e a carga lenta, sem necessidade de mover o preço além do necessário.
