O Elephone A5 é um muito smartphone por não muito dinheiro. Os usuários obtêm uma grande tela, alta resolução, construção sólida, leitor de MicroSD, leitor de digitais, câmera IV, wireless 802.11ac, dual-SIM e um processador de gama média decente, tudo por $200. Talvez o mais surpreendente seja que o desbloqueio facial de infravermelho funcione sem problemas. A proposta de valor é incrível para sua categoria.
Há uma série de desvantagens que os potenciais compradores devem ter em mente. Os tempos de resposta de preto e branco são lentos, pois o ghosting mais visível e a duração da bateria são, na melhor das hipóteses, medianos. A visibilidade em exteriores é limitada e alguns recursos de hardware como NFC, VoLTE, controle remoto e carregamento sem fio não são encontrados em lugar nenhum. Tanto o leitor de digitais quanto as câmeras poderiam ter sido melhores também, mas isso é difícil, considerando o baixo preço pedido. Os usuários que podem viver sem esses extras vão encontrar muito o que gostar no Elephone A5.
