O mais recente Blade Stealth oferece o maior aumento de desempenho para a série. Sua nova CPU Whisky Lake-U é muito menos suscetível a afogamentos e sua opção de GPU discreta está próxima do desempenho dos jogos do 2015 Blade Pro. O portátil é a prova de que os Ultrabooks podem oferecer desempenho gráfico razoável sem sacrificar as principais características do subportátil, como longa duração da bateria, design ultrafino, tela com precisão de cores e ventiladores silenciosos para aplicativos que não são jogos. Ele funciona como um candidato ideal para o uso em sala de aula e para aquela partida tão importante de Fortnite, Overwatch, Rocket League ou League of Legends. Ultrabooks concorrentes com a mesma GPU GeForce MX150, como o HP Envy 13t ou Huawei MateBook X Pro, são 25 a 30 por cento mais lento ao jogar.
As principais desvantagens do núcleo incluem aspectos do teclado e da tela. A luz de fundo RGB por tecla e o HDMI na última geração do Blade Stealth foram descartados. A RAM permanece não atualizável e a resposta do teclado poderia ser mais profunda. As teclas Enter e Backspace reduzidas, em particular, podem levar algum tempo para se acostumar. Enquanto isso, os tempos de resposta preto-branco e cinza-cinza são, na melhor das hipóteses, medianos para ghosting mais perceptíveis.
Também experimentamos um pequeno punhado de problemas técnicos que esperamos que sejam específicos da nossa unidade de teste. O cabo de carregamento frouxo, o ruído eletrônico leve e moderado, a descarga da bateria durante os jogos com a energia de CA e alguns comportamentos estranhos da velocidade do processador, são espinhos em um Ultrabook de 13,3 polegadas.
O desempenho por Watt é insano para sua classe de tamanho. Mais poderoso que um MacBook Pro 13sem ser maior ou mais pesado, o novo Blade Stealth está melhor do que nunca em balancear alto desempenho com alta portabilidade.
