O MSI GS66 vem em várias SKUs com duas opções de CPU (Core i7-10750H, Core i9-10980HK) e três opções de GPU (GeForce RTX 2060, RTX 2070 Super Max-Q, RTX 2080 Super Max-Q). Os dois SKUs que testamos até agora são o GS66 10SGS (Core i7-10750H, RTX 2080 Super Max-Q) e GS66 10SFS (Core i9-10980HK, RTX 2070 Super Max-Q). Se tivéssemos que escolher entre a CPU mais rápida com GPU mais lenta ou a CPU mais lenta com GPU mais rápida para fins de jogos, com certeza seria esta última, pois os jogos ainda rodarão marginalmente mais rápidos em geral com esta configuração.
Se você pretende usar o GS66 para tarefas pesadas de CPU fora dos jogos, então o SKU Core i9 octa-core pode fazer mais sentido devido à sua vantagem de desempenho multi-tarefa 25 a 35 por cento mais rápida do que o Core i7 hexa-core. Caso contrário, quaisquer diferenças seriam muito marginais nos jogos em que a opção mais rápida da GPU muitas vezes tem precedência. Os usuários que querem o melhor dos dois mundos podem sempre optar pela configuração do GS66 10SGS-031 de ultra gama alta.
Impressionante novo chassi com upgrades de jogos não tão impressionantes. A GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q no GS66 oferece um desempenho gráfico apenas 5 a 10% mais rápido do que o antigo MSI GS65 com a GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q. As melhores razões para comprar o GS66 sobre o GS65 são, portanto, pelo seu design de chassis mais forte e atualizável, ao invés dos menores ganhos de desempenho nos jogos.
