Contra
O GE62 estava disponível no início de este ano na faixa de preços de $1700 USD com placa de vídeo GTX 965M/970M e uma GPU Haswell. Depois de 18 meses e o GE62VR agora fornece a GTX 980M e uma CPU Skylake mais eficiente por quase o mesmo preço. À diferença do pulo da GT72 para a GT72VR, o GE62VR não omite recursos importantes do seu predecessor GE62 para torná-lo uma compra mais atraente, especialmente ao considerar que os sistemas com a GTX 1070 mais veloz frequentemente é vendida por $2000 USD ou mais.
As mesmas vantagens e desvantagens do GE62 ainda se aplicam aqui, dado que esta é apenas uma atualização menor de hardware. A duração da bateria continua estando abaixo da média, a tampa se flexiona um pouco facilmente, e o barulho da ventoinha é sempre audível, sem importar a carga de trabalho, inclusive depois da implementação de dois ou mais tubos de calor. O bleeding irregular da iluminação de fundo e as brechas entre o marco e as bordas da tela em nossa unidade de teste nos deixou um pouco preocupados sobre o controle de qualidade em algumas unidades MSI mais recentes. Recursos ausentes como o Thunderbolt 3, Sabre Audio DAC, e painéis de 120 Hz continuam a ser reservados para modelos da série MSI G de gama mais alta.
A série GE se trata de desempenho do núcleo e o GE62VR se sai muito bem neste aspecto. Não há afogamentos e as temperaturas são mantidas abaixo do anunciado antecipadamente. Esta ainda é uma experiência de barebones - apenas mais frio e muito mais rápido que antes.
