Com alternativas fortes disponíveis, como o MacBook Air ou XPS 13, a pressão foi forte em cima da Lenovo para manter a série ThinkPad X1 Carbon forte. Os modelos mais recentes se sentem melhor que nunca, como detalhamos na anterior análise da unidade e suas opções de WWAN certamente atrairão muitos compradores interessados.
Será que a configuração Core i5 FHD oferece durações muito mais longas e temperaturas mais baixas que as da configuração Core i7 WQHD? As durações da bateria não são muito diferentes que as do SKU mais caro e embora as temperaturas da superfície são um pouco inferiores, serão apenas um par de graus, no máximo. Estas pequenas diferenças entre os dois SKU significam que os usuários podem optar pelo modelo mais caro, por causa de seu desempenho mais veloz, cores mais precisas, e tela mais densa, sem sacrificar muito no caminho da duração da bateria.
O desempenho do Core i5 é mais baixo que o esperado, em particular em operações single-core. Talvez a diferença mais notória é que esta configuração FHD não utiliza PWM para o controle do brilho, ao contrário da configuração WQHD. Por isso, os usuários que são sensíveis ao flickering da tela poderiam preferir o modelo FHD, em vez de um processador mais veloz.
