Contra
A Lenovo está pisando em terreno mais profundo com o seu novo Y900 e o preço de $2000+ USD é a prova disso. Enquanto o design e o acabamento são sólidos, o novo teclado mecânico e Modo Turbo são um pacote misturado. As teclas se sentem suaves e irregulares e alguns usuários podem não gostar da resposta táctil. Enquanto isso, o modo Turbo oferece poucos benefícios para os jogos e recomendamos deixa-lo ligado o tempo todo durante os jogos, dado que não existem verdadeiras desvantagens em deixa-lo desligado durante o uso intenso.
Outra grande desvantagem é a estranha pulsação da ventoinha do sistema e a falta de controles da ventoinha personalizáveis no momento da análise. Isto eventualmente poderia ser resolvido, mas os usuários devem evitar utilizar o portátil em ambientes sensíveis ao ruído, inclusive quando ajustado nas configurações de economia de energia. O ruído da ventoinha ao jogar é um pouco mais forte que a maioria dos outros portáteis de 17-polegadas salvo pelo mais fino MSI GS73VR ou alternativas GigabyteAorus X7 Pro v5.
Em seu núcleo, o Y900 oferece forte desempenho com temperaturas relativamente baixas sem afogamento da CPU ou GPU. Apesar de tudo, tivemos dificuldade para encontrar suficiente valor no sistema para recomenda-lo sobre algo menos caro como o GT72VR com sua fácil manutenção e capacidade de atualização da GPU MXM 3.0b.
O mais recente portátil de jogos carro chefe da Lenovo é um grande passo para frente em termos de qualidade e design, mas no final fica para trás por causa de suas irritantes ventoinhas pulsantes, falta de opções de configuração da tela, teclas chiclet mecânicas, e baixo valor pelo alto preço, especialmente agora que os portáteis concorrentes estão sendo entregues com a mais eficiente GPU GTX 1060.
