To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . O HP 14-ma0312ng é um portátil de escritório de 14 polegadas que é poderoso o suficiente para todos os aplicativos típicos de escritório e baseados na Internet, graças ao seu processador quad-core Core i5-8250U. Além disso, o dispositivo funciona no modo de canal duplo e está equipado com uma unidade de memória Intel Optane que a distingue da concorrência.

Enquanto o teclado é bom o suficiente para o uso diário, a falta de luz de fundo é uma vergonha. O 14-ma0312ng não quebrará nenhum registro de duração da bateria, mas é suficiente para a maioria dos usos. 

O HP 14-ma0312ng é um bom dispositivo de escritório que é prejudicado por alguns componentes de hardware desatualizados.

O hardware restante não inspira. A tela é um painel TN escuro, com baixo contraste e tela com ângulos de visão ruins. A tela também tem uma baixa resolução de 1366 x 768. Além disso, as velocidades de Wi-Fi são lentas e não há suporte para ac Wi-Fi 802.11, que deve ser um problema padrão para dispositivos lançados em 2018. Até mesmo o leitor de cartões de memória é lento.
