Um bug depois de outro? Depois de que o XPS 15 (FHD/i5/híbrido) de gama baixa não conseguiu atender as altas expectativas, fomos cuidadosos com o mais caro e melhor equipado XPS 15 com um painel UHD, SSD NVMe e Core i7. Quem deseja gastar mais de 2.000 Euros (~$2195) para dar de cara com afogamentos da CPU, curtas durações da bateria ou inclusive flickering PWM ? Mas podemos acalmar as preocupações após esta revisão atualizada - pelo menos algumas delas. A CPU e a GTX 960M pode utilizar todo seu desempenho e não há flickering PWM, nem sequer com os níveis de brilho mais baixos. No entanto, as durações são decepcionantes; ainda são mais curtas em comparação com o modelo FHD 54-Wh, inclusive após a atualização do BIOS 1.1.14 (NVMe SleepBug).

A 6700HQ honra o seu nome e e pode derrotar inclusive o Aspire Nitro Black Edition nos testes de Cinebench na tomada. O i7 também pode utilizar o seu Boost (3,1 GHz) com a energia da bateria. O BIOS mais recente é importante; o XPS 15 estava atolado em 2,6 GHz de fábrica (BIOS Rev. 1.1.05) e tinha problemas de afogamentos durante a transição para a tomada.

A falta de uma unidade mecânica remove os ruídos irritantes que afetavam as gravações do microfone do XPS 15 de gama baixa. Um problema é a feia superfície de toque suave do apoio para as palmas. Agora, depois de duas semanas com abas as versões do XPS 15, podemos ver todo o esplendor de manchas difíceis de remover (também no touchpad).

O painel UHD Sharp é um dos melhores do seu tipo, que é suportado pelo 89% de cobertura AdobeRGB e os muito bons resultados depois da calibração, em particular. A tonalidade da cor desde o lado com superfícies escuras ou brilhantes é um problema menor em nossa opinião; pelo menos não nos impediria de uma compra.

Podemos repetir nossos resultados da análise do primeiro XPS 15 quando olhamos para as vantagens: Excelente qualidade de construção combinada com boa capacidade de manutenção e dimensões muito compactas. A soluções de resfriamento age de forma razoável e os fanáticos do desempenho não ficarão decepcionados após a atualização do BIOS. O bom som dos alto falantes e o Thunderbolt 3 completam o pacote.

Em resumo – se ignoramos os bugs e as confusões iniciais – o XPS 15 UHD é uma ótima ferramenta de trabalho com falhas limitadas. Se você quiser perfeição em todo aspecto, já ficará decepcionado com a webcam, mas as durações irão acabar com quaisquer simpatias. Se os pontos em contra não são importantes para você, então você obtém um portátil muito bom em termos de outros aspectos, que pode enfrentar o Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15 2015.

Atualização 23/12/2015:

Nós já o determinamos, o BIOS 1.1.14 não melhora as durações da bateria. A Dell agora faz o recall da versão 1.1.14, que ainda não lançado oficialmente, e solicita que os testadores usem a versão anterior (1.1.13). Nota: A versão 1.1.13 ainda não foi oficialmente lançada para os usuários. A Dell está trabalhando duro para liberá-la o antes possível. Vamos adicionar as novas durações, mas não repetir os testes de desempenho (velocidades, etc.) devido as revisões ainda imaturas do BIOS.
