O GX501VS é vendido atualmente $500 mais barato do que o GX501VI de $2800. Os gamers que possam lidar com a queda de 15 por cento de desempenho do GTX 1080 Max-Q para o GTX 1070 Max-Q encontrarão uma barreira inferior mais atraente para entrar nesta última configuração Zephyrus. Isto é verdade especialmente se os jogos em 120 FPS ou 4K não são atraentes, pois o GTX 1070 Max-Q é atualmente mais do que suficiente para 1080p60 na maioria dos títulos testados. Quando comparado com os concorrentes não Max-Q mais próximos, o GX501 é impressionantemente mais rápido e mais silencioso.

Além das discrepâncias de desempenho entre as duas SKUs Max-Q, nossas análises no GX501VI ainda se aplicam ao GX501VS. O ruído da ventoinha é quase o mesmo, apesar do mais lento GTX 1070 Max-Q que funciona a 10 C a menos quando sob cargas de jogos. O desempenho da CPU é estável ao custo de altas temperaturas do núcleo e o teclado ainda é bastante inferior para fins de jogo. 

A característica de dobradiça única continua a ser uma bolsa mista. Ele permite um chassi muito plano e atraente, mas este definitivamente não é um portátil para usar no colo ou no trem sem uma mesa plana. Mesmo assim, o posicionamento do teclado fechado é desfavorável em espaços apertados como em aviões. Essas desvantagens estão em desacordo com o design fino e portátil.

O GX501VS mais acessível da Asus possui uma enorme quantidade de poder e funciona de forma mais silenciosa do que outros portáteis superfinos atualmente no mercado. Os usuários que querem o Zephyrus pelo seu tamanho, ruído da ventoinha decente e potencial de gráficos de 1080p, encontrarão muito do que gostar. Caso contrário, portáteis de jogos maiores e mais tradicionais de 15 polegadas com gráficos GTX 1070 padrão, ainda darão mais pelo seu dinheiro.
