Similar ao Razer Blade (15)  funciona com de forma mais fria, durante mais tempo, e mais silencioso que o Blade 15 GTX 1070, o GL503GM também funciona mais frio, durante mais tempo, e de forma mais silenciosa que o GL504GS. Há, portanto, várias razões pelas quais alguém preferiria o GL503GM menos caro do que o GL504GS, além do custo, pois o GL504GS poderia ter se beneficiado de uma solução de resfriamento mais potente. Afinal, há uma razão pela qual outros portáteis de 15 polegadas com a mesma opção de GPU GTX 1070, como a MSI GT63, pode ter o dobro de tubos de calor.

A melhor parte da série GL504 ainda é a tela mate de 144 Hz. Os marcos mais estreitos e a taxa de atualização da tela melhorada e os tempos de resposta, fazem com que a última geração dos modelos GL503 pareça muito atual em comparação. Para aproveitar ao máximo a alta taxa de atualização, no entanto, o GL504GS ainda é a melhor opção, pois a GTX 1070 é necessária para impulsionar esses quadros extras na maioria dos títulos. É uma atualização que vale a pena considerar com base apenas no design e na tela, especialmente para aqueles que ainda jogam em GPUs Maxwell.

A falta de G-Sync é uma chatice, mas o GL504GM compensa isso com o Optimus para maior duração da bateria e ventiladores mais silenciosos do que no GL504GS. É um dos designs de chassi de 15 polegadas com borda estreita mais forte atualmente disponível e certamente mais rígido do que o que o MSI GS65 tem a oferecer.
