A série Strix GL502 é a resposta da Asus para o Aorus X5S por um preço mais econômico e melhor qualidade de construção sem exageros. De fato, o sistema deixa de lado muito recursos que os gamers hardcore poderiam achar difícil de deixar de lado, incluindo NVMe, RAID 0, múltiplos slots SODIMM, opções adicionais para armazenamento interno, G-Sync, teclado RGB, teclas Macro, e uma série de recursos de conectividade, como Thunderbolt 3. A Asus pode se sentir como barebone como resultado, quando comparado com a concorrência, porém seus recursos principais são sólidos. O painel de alta qualidade, gama ampla, e forte desempenho são seus destaques que o tornam o melhor portátil de jogos de 15-polegadas que a série ROG tem a oferecer. O GL552 mais grosso oferece alguns extras, como uma unidade ótica e uma bateria removível, porém, oferece opções de GPU mais fracas, em comparação.
Ainda resta ver como o SKU GL502VY e sua GTX 980M conseguem se desempenhar, dado que este SKU GTX 970M já funciona bastante quente. Embora não seja tão ruim quanto no GS60, o sistema de resfriamento da Asus, certamente é menos desenvolvido que o Aorus e os dois compartilham dimensões e peso muito similares. Por enquanto, no entanto, ficamos impressionados pelo GL502VT.
