Há muito do que gostar no Asus GL503VD. O novo design é bastante atraente e muito mais moderado que o de portáteis ROG anteriores. O corpo principal do portátil é estável e se sente bem na mão. O teclado consegue manter o nível com o melhor do setor e os efeitos RGB são bem executados e adicionam um pouco de petulância. A tela é brilhante e oferece excelente reprodução de cores a este preço. O desempenho do sistema é consistente e o desempenho dos jogos está um pouco acima de outros portáteis equipados com GTX 1050. A duração da bateria também é excelente para uma máquina de jogos e deve durar a maior parte do dia útil.
Há, no entanto, algumas restrições. Algumas brechas em torno do aparelho são um pouco grandes demais para o nosso gosto e tendem a reunir poeira e partículas pequenas. O ruído do ventilador também pode aumentar, e a alta frequência das ventoinhas pode chiar nos ouvidos. Os alto-falantes também são anêmicos e finos. Alguns pontos no chassi esquentam muito, mas deve notar-se que o calor é amplamente direcionado para longe de onde as mãos de um usuário descansarão.
O portátil é em grande parte retido pela GTX 1050. O GTX 1050 Ti ofereceria um salto notável no desempenho dos jogos, mas isso também elevaria ainda mais o preço, que já estava alto. Existem outros portáteis que oferecem desempenho semelhante por centenas de dólares menos O Lenovo Legion Y520 e o Acer Aspire VX15 competem bem contra o GL503VD e vêm em por menos de $1000, enquanto o GL503VD está a partir de $1100. Nosso modelo (que está equipado com um SSD de 256 GB) está a partir de cerca de $1300.
Em resumo, o GL503VD é uma máquina e bonita e bem construída. Possivelmente o melhor portátil de nível de entrada disponível no momento. O portátil é muito mais atraente e bem construído do que as máquinas contra as quais compete. No entanto, o visual elegante, o excelente teclado e a melhor duração da bateria vêm com um golpe notável no preço. Também é muito possível que a Asus introduza modelos do GL503 que ostentem uma GTX 1050 Ti ou GTX 1060 no futuro próximo. Embora não tenha sido anunciado oficialmente, pode valer a pena esperar para ver o que a Asus tem na manga.
