Contra
O Aorus X5S é um passo adiante sobre o X5, mas não sem tomar alguns passos pequenos para trás durante o processo. Todas as novas atualizações, sem dúvida são apreciadas incluindo DDR4, NVMe, USB Type-C, e a mudança da GTX 965M SLI para uma só GTX 980M. Esta última, em particular demostra que não muito motivos para optar por uma configuração SLI mais fraca quando jogar com uma só GPU mais potente pode oferecer resultados similares. É difícil recomendar o X5 sobre o X5S, apenas por este motivo.
Enquanto a duração da bateria está lá em cima e as temperaturas das superfícies lá embaixo, como resultado direto das mudanças da GPU, outros fatores como o ruído da ventoinha não melhoraram e ainda pode ser suficientemente barulhenta para distrais durante os jogos. Mais opções de telas como resoluções 2K ou 3K com suporte para G-Sync poderiam ter sido disponibilizadas para um portátil mais balanceado, considerando a GPU GTX 980M. Para futuras iterações, gostaríamos de ver melhorias no teclado e touchpad e em outras características como rigidez da carcaça, bleeding da luz de fundo, tempos de resposta, e ruído do sistema.
Colocar uma GTX 980M em um fino chassi de 15,6-polegadas significa fazer alguns sacrifícios, incluindo mais ruído da ventoinha e uma carcaça mais fraca. Os usuários que não queiram portáteis de jogos mais grandes e pesados, encontrarão muito do que gostar no Aorus X5S, desde que estejam conscientes de suas desvantagens.
