O ZBox EN980 não é o menor, nem o mais leve mini PC de jogos, mas utiliza seus extras sabiamente com um sistema de resfriamento muito eficiente que não deveria ser menosprezado. Quando comparado com portáteis de jogos ainda mais grossos como a série GT72S ou Asus G752, tanto o ruído da ventoinha quanto as temperaturas são notoriamente inferiores quando estão sob uso intenso para um potencial de overclock da GPU superior. É um design muito sólido - embora simples em forma - é mais prático do que pomposo.

Por seus $1600 USD, no entanto, achamos que o sistema poderia oferecer mais. Recursos como NVMe, DDR4, RAID, Thunderbolt 3, e ventoinha controles superiores da ventoinha são comuns em portáteis de jogos na mesma faixa de preços. O ruído da ventoinha durante o modo inativo podia ser menor e opções superiores da CPU da gama Core i7 teriam feito deste aparelho uma melhor compra, dado que o Core i5-6400 deixa uma impressão de que falta um pouco de potência em cargas de trabalho multi-threaded.
