Uma palavra descreve nossa experiência geral com o Pavilion Gaming 17: surpresos. A série Pavilion é a oferta de baixo custo da HP feita para usuários com orçamento limitado e, portanto, sempre ajustamos nossas expectativas de acordo a isso. Esse modelo em particular nos pegou desprevenidos por ser um dos portáteis de jogos mais silenciosos que já testamos e também um dos PCs Pavilion mais finos e mais bem projetados. A HP está claramente começando a dar mais atenção a seus portáteis de jogos de nível básico e realmente mostra isso com o Pavilion Gaming 17.
Ainda existem algumas características "orçamentárias" que poderiam melhorar. O clickpad apertado, a tampa flexível, os alto-falantes médios e as frágeis grades traseiras parecem pertencer a um portátil muito mais barato.
O maior asterisco aqui é que o Pavilion Gaming 17 com gráficos i9-9750H e GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q não é muito mais barato do que um sistema concorrente com especificações equivalentes. Por US $ 1.300, é apenas cerca de US $ 100 a US $ 200 mais barato do que o MSI GL73, MSI GP75, Asus TUF FX705, ou Asus ROG GL731GU dependendo da RAM, armazenamento, e configuração da tela.
