Be in no doubt, this is a luxurious, high-performance phablet in every sense, but just as with the iPhone 6, Apple is demanding a daunting premium for its work. And with stunning, and arguably more versatile, phablets such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 also vying for your hefty wodge of cash, there's one key question you should ask yourself before splashing out: do you prefer Android or iOS? Rest assured that whichever you choose, your money will buy you one of the best phablets out there.

Coming to the price. Well, the iPhone 6s Plus 128GB variant is priced at Rs 92,000. It is certainly an excellent phone and the 3D Touch execution is truly innovative. Live photos, 4K video recording, a generally fast user experience is what makes this phone stand out from competition. Sure there are some flaws as well such as limited scenarios for one-handed use, digging into general settings for things which could’ve been implemented in native apps among them.

The iPhone 6s comes out (barely) on top because it is significantly faster (both in real-world scenarios and synthetic benchmarks), and because it simply takes better pictures based on our side-by-side comparisons. The iPhone 6s is no slouch in the features department, either, as its 3D Touch adds a level of immersion to the overall user experience while saving you time.

I’ve tried to cover most of the bigger changes that Apple has made to the new iPhone 6s. There are some other changes as well such as an addition of a 4th microphone and an insanely faster TouchID that barely lets you see the lock screen. Apple has also made the iPhone 6s a bit more water resistant. You get all of that with both the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus.

With good clarity, vibrant and accurate colors, as well as excellent low-light performance, the iPhone 6s Plus consistently produced great shots. It was also one of the faster cameras tested, while the Nexus was sometimes slow to shoot. Those looking for the best smartphone camera around will find it in the iPhone 6s Plus.

It’s become cliché to say but it bears repeating: this is the best iPhone Apple has ever made (and there’d be a serious problem if that weren’t true with each new release). If you’re invested in Apple’s ecosystem and it’s time for an upgrade, you really can’t go wrong with either of the new iPhones. Those coming from other platforms or otherwise contemplating trying an iPhone for the first time have plenty to look forward to but with so many excellent Android phones to choose from at a range of price points and new Windows phones just around the corner, defecting to Apple is a much harder sell than in years past.

On the whole we'd go for the new iPhone 6s Plus if possible. It packs a lot of extra features for the money, and both 3D Touch and Hey Siri have become a regular part of our iPhone experience that we wouldn't want to go without. These alone would be worth the extra £100 it costs to get the newer version, but it's really the faster A9 CPU and 2GB of RAM that are worth the money. We felt the iPhone 6 Plus, with its 1GB of RAM was miserly at the time and feel much more comfortable with the 2GB of RAM on offer on the new model. The phone will last much longer with more RAM. Get the iPhone 6s Plus if possible.

It’s not exactly a lust-worthy product, though—there’s nothing here to sell a kidney for. It’s faster, it’s better, it’s definitely easier to navigate. But the iPhone 6 was already so good, and the Android ecosystem has caught up so quickly, that anyone with a recent flagship phone isn’t missing much here. There’s a catch, though: Once developers have had a year to play with 3D Touch’s full capabilities, you’re definitely going to want an iPhone 7.

It's easy to say that these are the best iPhones Apple has ever made, but that's true every year. Like I said before, a device's worth isn't tied directly to a single feature: The important thing is how all of its components and design flourishes and features and interaction elements fit together as a unified whole. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus nail it -- mostly.

Based on the spec, we’d have to opt for the iPhone 6s Plus – the introduction of 3D Touch and an improved camera are both major plus points for the phone, and that’s without mentioning the upgraded A9 processor and 2GB of RAM. However, with this being said, if you’re not as excited about the iPhone 6s Plus’ 3D Touch display and improved camera as we are, the iPhone 6 Plus is still a fantastic phone and can compete with many 2015 flagship phones. Years ago, it was rather pointless to directly compare the current iPhone generation with a Galaxy Note powerhouse. The two simply did not belong to the same device category. In 2015, however, we have the iPhone 6 Plus and the Galaxy Note5, which are clear and formidable opponents. But picking a favorite among the two could be tricky. The phablets are comparable in terms of display size and overall dimensions. Also, the latest Galaxy Note offering is about as attractive and well-designed as the iPhone 6 Plus.

If you ask us, the Galaxy S6 edge+ has everything — everything save for iOS, that is — to account for a dent in Apple's quarterly report. It also has a superior screen, longer battery life, and a striking, innovative design. In other words, the S6 edge+ is plain cool — just like the iPhone has always been. Depends on taste, we guess. Regardless, we'll be watching the oversized S6 edge's market performance with a genuine interest. We're also curious about your opinion on which device makes for a better all-around phablet. In the clash between the LG G4 and the iPhone 6 Plus, it's virtually impossible to determine a clear winner. Both handsets have their strengths and weaknesses, and picking one over the other will eventually narrow down to personal preferences. The G4, in particular, is a pretty good example of what a smartphone maker might come up with after it's taken its time to perfect a winning formula – the G4 is a surprisingly good all-around device that will most certainly cope with the majority of everyday tasks you might throw at it.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is quite a handset. It has a fabulous screen, fantastic cameras and the power and speed that at least matches the iPhone 6. It does, however, have its flaws, including that super-shiny design. The iPhone 6-like edges are also likely to draw some unwanted negative attention from Apple fans. Ultimately it is a question of price, and whether you prefer Android or iOS. For the reasons outlined in the software section we prefer iOS, but we are very impressed with this Android.

Initially I preferred the iPhone 6. I liked its size, weight and general overall design. But in recent weeks my allegiance has slowly but surely switched to the iPhone 6 Plus. The reason? Simple: battery life –– the iPhone 6 Plus just doesn’t let you down, offering up a solid two day’s worth of use before dying. Had Apple has the foresight to include some from of Project Volta-style battery extender then I’d probably still prefer the iPhone 6. Knowing that they’re in that phablet space, we’re dealt with larger-than-normal screens here. Specs have a way of dictating things, which is evident here from a cursory look, as the Nexus 6’s 5.96-inch 1440 x 2560 AMOLED display trumps the iPhone 6 Plus’ 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 Retina Display. Obviously, there’s a huge advantage with the Nexus 6 when it comes to pixel density, but in all fairness, it’s still tough to discern its superiority from a normal viewing distance – though, it becomes evident upon closer inspection.

The iPhone 6 Plus is a power-packed device with unbeatable gaming performance. It also features the best screen Apple has to offer. In the camera department, low-light performance and the slow-motion features are amazing. On the other hand, it's the most unwieldy phone the Cupertino company has produced so far. The bigger size has not only hurt the usability of the new iPhone, but also taken away the class and elegance you expect from Apple. In short, if you use a 5.5-inch Android "phablet" for making calls, you are an idiot. And if you use a 5.5-inch iPhone for making calls, then you are an idiot with a lot of money. Possibly, most techies will defend the large screen phones for now. However, a few years from now, we will all look back and laugh at these phones.

At the end of the day, both phablets will present consumers with cutting-edge performance and capabilities, but consumers will have to decide if they want to go the Samsung/Android way, or the Apple way. Each has clear advantages and disadvantages on the platform level, but if allow ourselves to focus exclusively on the devices at hand, we could say that they are both winners. One last detail we have to take into account is that the Galaxy Note Edge is a bit more expensive than the iPhone 6 Plus, as it's priced at $399 on a two-year contract, while the 6 Plus is $299 on a two-year contract. It looks like that forward-looking Edge display has a premium attached to it, but oh well, hopefully it won't be long before it goes through a little price adjustment.

There you have it, my review on the iPhone 6 Plus. Do you see that I actually enjoyed a considerable amount of it? I think by now, you should see that iOS is the problem with Apple, and not the iPhone itself. Apple has been losing at the software game for quite some time now, and this needs to change. Second, if you're a Google user and deep into Google services, steer clear. Android is far superior (no matter what you say iOS fanboys, be gone) and you will regret it. Google has various apps tied into the iPhone, but they are nowhere near as powerful as they are on Android. If you don't use Google apps that much and just 'use an Android phone' or 'own a Galaxy phone', then you might actually enjoy what Apple has on offer with the new iPhone.

The larger screen, long battery life and great performance make up for minor niggles like certain features not being available in the UK. While the iPhone 6 Plus isn't the cheapest smartphone out there, the pricing is comparable to other premium phablets from rivals and for Apple fans, you get the reliable and user-friendly iOS experience with a high-quality large display. However, the larger size won't suit everyone, as it's not easy to use one-handed and typing will be awkward for those with smaller hands.

The iPhone 6 Plus offers a bigger storage option (but it's rather expensive), a more premium look and a Touch ID fingerprint scanner, but the Nexus 6 offers a bigger and better screen, front-facing speakers and probably a lower price tag though we'll have to wait for official confirmation for that one.

My first day with the iPhone 6 Plus has been a surprising one. I didn't come into it thinking that I would hate the iPhone, but I didn't think I would enjoy so much of it so much. The display simply blows me away, and I will find it hard to go back to my Xperia Z2 after this. The question I have is, what if Apple allowed Android on its devices? What if Apple opened up Android and hired some custom OS making companies that have been toying around with Android? Imagine if Apple had purchased Cyanogen, for example. This is what I want to see, as iOS is a massive hurdle for me. It is something that will keep me from ever owning an iPhone for myself.

While those phones may compete to a certain degree, it's fair to say that the iPhone 6 Plus is still the best phablet overall thanks to everything you get. For starters, you're guaranteed to get the next version of iOS on its day of release - how many Android phones can say the same thing? Then, there's Apple's entire ecosystem, which is getting better and better. With OS X Yosemite and iOS 8, you'll be able share tasks and features across all of your devices seamlessly. On top of all that, the Apple App Store still has the best selection of quality apps in it. Put all of that together and there aren't a lot of good reasons not to buy the iPhone 6 Plus. It's definitely the slickest, quickest, best-made phablet that you can buy and wins our Recommended award.

With Samsung being credited with the popularization of the phablet form factor, it comes as no surprise that most consumers expect these to be super functional pieces of hardware, filled to the brim with extras and perks. But that's actually synonymous with Samsung, not the phablet category, and that becomes apparent with the iPhone 6 Plus, which, despite its relatively empty bag of goodies, makes for an awesome phablet experience. But it's not as simple as just “pick the Note 4 if you want features; go for the 6 Plus if you want simplicity”, and it never was.

As with the iPhone 6, it's hard to come to a conclusion about the iPhone 6 Plus. For a start, it’s unusual for Apple not to make the first move, so while the iPhone 6 Plus is the biggest and fastest iPhone ever, there are even bigger smartphones with higher resolution screens in the Android stable. There’s also the unknown for a lot of people. Is a 5.5in screen too big? Conversely, is it big enough to replace a tablet such as the iPad mini? These are questions that have no definitive answers: screen size is and will always be a personal preference. There will be iPhone owners that will prefer to stick with a smaller screen and opt to hold onto their iPhone 5s / 5c / 5 or buy a 4.7in iPhone 6. Others will love the extra size for browsing websites, watching videos, using detailed apps (such as Garageband) and browsing their iCloud Photo Library. Yet more might feel that 5.5in isn’t enough to comfortably browse some websites or use fiddly controls in apps. As Jason Snell observed above, if you’re not sure, it’s well worth heading to an Apple store to try out an iPhone 6 Plus before you buy. One thing is for sure: the iPhone 6 Plus is expensive. If you're a dedicated iPhone user and would never consider switching to Android, you'll save money by going for the smaller iPhone 6. But saving money has never been a goal for most iPhone buyers and on that basis, the iPhone 6 Plus is a very fine smartphone indeed.

The hardware execution is great - every bit feels of the same premium quality as the corresponding component in the iPhone 6. We don't think the bending issues will be widespread enough to cause panic, but still the iPhone 6 Plus as a sum of its parts is a rather large device. There are 5.7 to 6-inch droids that fit in the same footprint.

After living with the new iPhone 6 Plus for a while, Will sits down with Norm to discuss the merits of Apple's biggest smartphone. How well does iOS 8 work on a 5.5-inch screen? Does the stabilized camera and extra battery life matter? We compare the new iPhone models and help Will decide if he wants to stick with the Plus or return it.

This is Apple’s first generation phablet so there’s room for improvement. Although the 6 Plus has a superb display and great battery life, we found it too cumbersome for everyday usage. At 4.7ins the iPhone 6 has a manageable size, the same processor/1GB RAM and almost identical camera. Unless battery life and extra screen space is essential - we'd recommend the smaller iPhone 6.

As for choosing AT&T as your carrier, take a look at our Fastest Mobile Networks results. AT&T came in the middle of the pack this year; it doesn't have Verizon's fast XLTE speeds, or Sprint and T-Mobile's low prices. What it does have is better LTE coverage than the two lower-cost carriers, especially in rural and suburban areas—upstate New York and New England, for instance, have much better AT&T than T-Mobile or Sprint coverage. Remember, if you buy an unlocked phone up front, you can try out several carriers until you find the right mix of coverage and service for you.

All things considered, the iPhone 6 Plus is a great phone if you want a smartphone with a large screen that offers some tablet-like functionality under Apple’s ecosystem. The screen is gorgeous, there’s more than enough power on tap, the camera is among the top in its class and the phone is ridiculously thin. While there are a few design aspects I don’t agree with, the iPhone 6 Plus is otherwise a great phone.

Gizmag highly recommends the iPhone 6 Plus to anyone looking for a kick-ass mobile device that can serve as both big phone and small tablet. If you're already a happy citizen of Apple's walled garden, then I'd say go and buy one right now. If your platform preference is a bit more flexible, then you still can't go wrong here – but it also couldn't hurt to wait and see how the Note 4 sizes up.

Excellent camera quality produces amazing images. Almost impossible to shoot blurry video, even of uncooperative toddlers. Battery life will keep you going all day and well into the night. Glorious, vivid, roomy display will make you want to throw out your iPad. Do you enjoy making jokes about having something big in your pants? This is the phone for you. You call these widgets, iOS 8? I want to be able to read my email right on my home screen. It scratches. It bends.

All in all, the iPhone 6 Plus is a wonderful new handset. It's not necessarily as technologically advanced (on paper at least) as some of its Android rivals, but all its features work brilliantly and they're so well integrated that the overall experience is right up there with the very best.

The iPhone 6 Plus is a stunning piece of design, and its sumptuous screen will be a magnificent showpiece for the latest games, movies and web pages. Whether the clever Reachability feature will be enough to solve the problems of such a large smartphone remain to be seen, however, and the price tag remains intimidating. The iPhone 6 Plus is a huge leap from the iPhone 5s, not in terms of technology so much as in terms of its physical presence. It won’t be for everyone, but we are sure that it will pick up many advocates for whom the bigger screen is ideal.

The iPhone 6 is Apple’s new iPhone, and the iPhone 6 Plus is a new type of device, one in which Apple will continue to flesh out in upcoming releases, and maybe when it’s thinner and lighter, and the bezels aren’t so large, I would consider it again. But for now, you’ll find the best smartphone in the world in my pocket, and that’s an iPhone 6.

For a few years, Apple fans have lamented the fact that the iPhone was smaller than flagship devices from other carriers. Now that the iPhone 6 Plus has arrived, they no longer have to suffer from phablet envy. But size isn't everything. While the iPhone 6 Plus is a great phone -- it has an excellent display, strong performance and above-average battery life -- I prefer a phone that I can comfortably use in one hand.

Apple's track record of device build quality and attention to detail remains untarnished. Although the iPhone 6 Plus is larger, there's been a considerable effort to maintain the hands-on usability factor. It's thin at 7.1 millimeters, and has rounded edges, making it easier to hold. The iPhone 6 Plus's power button shifted away from the top of the device, where it was located on earlier versions, to the right-hand edge, avoiding any need to overreach.

Picking between the iPhone 6 Plus and the LG G3 may feel like an overwhelming task – after all, the two trade blows left and right. With Apple's first phablet, you're getting a more stylish, but much bulkier device, with a less-detailed screen that is nevertheless perfectly fine. The 6 Plus is also a considerably better performer in day-to-day tasks and apps execution, and its camera is, on the whole, a notch better than what LG has going on.

Technically, meanwhile, the 2208x1242 to 1920x1080 scaling is so obviously suboptimal that the iPhone 6 Plus feels like a stopgap, launched to establish a class of device before the technology had been fully worked out. It doesn’t seem fanciful to wonder if, like the iPad 3, it might be rather speedily replaced.

The iPhone 6 Plus isn't that different from the iPhone 6. Still, it isn't simply a supersized iPhone 6, as well. It's more like a heavy-duty iPhone 6, designed to cater to the needs of users who want to get some more productivity out of their mobile handset. With its bigger screen, the slight iOS 8 enhancements, and better battery life, the iPhone 6 Plus is the bigger and better variant of the iPhone 6. You call yourself a hardcore mobile user who's into the Apple ecosystem? It looks like the iPhone 6 Plus has been made for you.

No doubt, Apple is testing the waters with the iPhone 6 Plus. For the company, the move to compete in the phablet space is a logical one, since consumers are increasingly seeing the value of having a gigantic screen in a phone. Sure, it can make you look a little obnoxious holding a massive thing to your ear, but there are obviously advantages to having a big screen at our disposal.

It's too early to give a definitive verdict, but if you prefer a smaller screen, go for the iPhone 6 with 64GB of storage. Avoid the 16GB model. If you want a larger screen and better-stabilised video, the 64GB iPhone 6 Plus should be a good choice.

The iPhone 6 Plus will undoubtedly be too big for some hands. It's far bigger physically than any previous iPhone but also bigger than any comparable Android. The LG G3, which has the same size screen, is dwarfed by it. Even the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, with its 5.7in display, is shorter.

The iPhone 6 Plus is a big departure for Apple – a BIG departure – and one initially we weren’t onboard with, but its software stabilisers have helped us to stop worrying and learn to love the phablet. The full-HD screen (finally) is stunning, with so much display to get lost in, while the build tries its hardest to be as size-flattering as possible. The tweaks in iOS 8 are focused and shave noticeable seconds off tasks, while landscape mode is incredibly natural for typing and organising, and a design choice we wish had made it to the standard iPhone 6 just for its functionality.

Combining premium design and Apple's high level of finesse the iPhone 6 Plus is a highly accomplished smartphone which will hit all the right marks for anyone desperate for a big screened iPhone. Android fans hell-bent on a phablet sized smartphone full to the brim with the latest tech and monster power are unlikely to favour the iPhone 6 Plus, which on paper doesn't stack up in terms of raw specs. But that won't matter to Apple, or to those who part with a princely sum of money to own an iPhone 6 Plus.

Both of the new iPhone 6 models are expensive propositions, but the iPhone 6 Plus - particularly at the upper storage capacities - is really going to test some wallets. Whether they do enough to justify their price tags is debatable, but these are extremely desirable products. The iPhone 6 is a beautiful smartphone with a great screen, the NFC equipment to give you access to Apple Pay when it launches here next year and (of course) a brilliant operating system; the iPhone 6 Plus adds longer battery life and a very high-resolution and even bigger screen. Features-wise you can probably get more of the latest innovations from the Android line-up but the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus offer stronger security, a higher standard of apps and a user experience which many will prefer. Still used to the screens of the iPhone 5 series, we might be tempted to save a little money and go for the iPhone 6 and its cautiously expanded form factor; but those who fancy the better media and gaming potential of a 5.5-inch iPhone screen will be well served by the 6 Plus.

Make no mistake: The most important new thing about the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is their size. While their processors run faster and their cameras focus more exactingly, the real story is that these are larger phones with larger screens. That’s better for displaying photos and videos, of course, and often for just allowing more information to fit on the screen. But there’s also a cost: The smaller your hands are, the harder these phones are to handle.

Times change, however, and the smart smartphone changes along with them. The public asked for bigger and Apple delivered not only bigger but better, too. Apple has done a great job with the iPhone 6 Plus. It is a small iPad, as well as a large-screen iPhone. It may lack some of the raw power and display performance of the Galaxy Note 4, but we don't feel that you will find it lacking in either area. And the all-round excellence of the iPad ecosystem and user experience will give the iPhone 6 Plus the edge for existing iPhone users looking for a larger screen.
